Yep, tastes just like chicken.

Years ago, we had a guy at work bring some smoked rattler in and pass around samples. He didn't always mention exactly what it was. One of our more obnoxious female coworkers said how good it tasted and asked what it was. I told her, and she promptly threw up.

I don't think she ever spoke to me again.

I hate snakes but I like to eat, I would glady give it a try, infact I would love to try putting some out on my smoker and giving it a try !

Problem is that they dont make them that big up this way !

I don't know, but around here I've seen a pretty good assortment, riding dirt bikes down by the train tracks and in the swamps.
In 1 case I was going up and down this steep grassy hill and I kept going past this coil of black radiator size hose, well you guessed it, not a hose but a large snake, not sure what kind, kept thinking that's an awfully shinny radiator hose! till it started moving!!!

Another was up on our little "mountain" hiking with my son who was about 10 at the time, I told him "be careful son, this is the south side and a rattlesnake could be sunning himself on the warm rocks here", don't know why I said that since I'd never seen a rattlesnake in my life, it was more of me trying to recreate an ol' yeller memory. just as I finished saying it the kid says "like that one there".

Sure enough there was a thick brown snake coiled up about 5 ft away from us, I usually try to capture any animal I encounter but knew better with this guy, so I threw a tiny little twig at him just to see if he would move, the snake took off like lightning, faster than any I've seen before, was just thinking good thing he went the other way instead of towards us.
