Well Bird I kind of thought thats what it was. Have you ever heard of a product call rim guard?? Im also trying to find me some of them Michelins.
Rich
I don't think I have, though some of the industrial tires, like OTR's, have what they call a rim guard built in. Basically, it's a raised edge on the sidewall that keeps stumps or anything you might roll past from being able to get under the edge of the rim and bend it. Is what you're talking about anything like that?
Let me know what you find out about the Michelins. BTW, the rear tires will fit on the stock R4 wheels, but the fronts require custom wheels.
Thanks for the info Mark it will gvie me a target price to shoot for. It looks like i may have to do a little driving to find some. What did you do with your old tires? Did you sell them?? or by tractor with out ?
I sold them to a friend of mine. He put them on an old L2550. I've got some before and after pictures of it to post on my web site when I get it going. It's pretty funny to see the difference.
Pictures to make us all drool for---/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I would love to see it please let me know when you get it online.
What about the 4700 has anyone considered this model---price seems pretty close to the 4610 I've been looking at the 4700 pretty hard.
Told the wife I need $1200.00 for rear tires--her reply to me was--They sure have gone up in price, almost be less expensive to buy the new tractor you want. Now how do I tell her that the new tractor needs $1200.00 in tires?/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Will do. I need to buy a digital camera. Haven't had the money since I got the tires...
Methinks you went about the tire money thing all wrong. Perhaps you should've told her the price of the tractor had gone up that much since you've waited so long to get it - and there's another price increase coming.
BTW, don't forget that you can't just switch the rear tires, because you've got to keep the front ones matched with the rear's rolling circumference. I think I said that already, but just making sure.
