I used to own a lot of cylinders, but now down to almost a dozen or so. A couple are the "larger size" that appear to be 330 cu' but actually are just 251 cu'.
The "clean ring" often gives a clue but is by no means an absolute. Sometimes a larger bottle bears a gas companies name but has the right serial number prefix for a customer owned bottle. Sometimes size delegates c/o no matter what, while sometimes it is only part of the picture.
I suggest finding out bottle cu ft first, and then on to the next step...
