I've been scoping out this auction coming this Sat. There is a real heavy duty 8' York brand york rake with fold up back blade, crank down scarifiers, end caps, wheels. It's a RE model. The whole unit looks new except for the busted cable operating the scarifiers. There is some surface rust, I guess it's had some outside time.
Tines look like new condition, not bent, original paint.
I know this is an old model, don't know how old.
What's it worth?

What ever the highest bid is . Auctions are crap shoots it seems , when I want to buy what ever it is goes way high . Its kinda like craigs list , people want almost as much as new

If I didn't see the auction for something I want until after it closed, it sold way low.
If I see it while it's open, and bid on it, it sells for twice the cost new.

York (brand) rakes have always been super quality.

There is no intrinsic value to the rake. Its value will be determined by the high bidder at the auction.

You are not getting many responses because this is the case.

I bid on implements and auction implements "pickup only" on eBay because I get market value and assured payment.

Interestingly, my last three NORTH FLORIDA implement auctions all three high bidders have been from GEORGIA.

I know it's old, probably from the 50's. I just can't get over what good shape it's in auction 002.jpgauction 001.jpg

I phoned the york rake co. Spoke with a very nice women there. Learned somethings. She said the RE model is about 40 years old. The older RE's had 3/4" tines. They are unavailable. The newer RE's had 1" tines and the parts are available.

Rake tines are pretty generic. While York may no longer have 3/4" tines I am sure a web search will provide a vender. I would begin with Agri-Supply in North Carolina.
