Reaction at the cash register

I sometimes step on a few toes while in line at a checkout counter. Some people behind me just stand to close. When I can feel their breath on my neck or their hands, arms and elbows on my back they are to close to me. Coughing, sniffing or sneezing down my back is irritating also.

So I take a half step backwards and if my perceived target is hit, they quickly move back a step or two.

Problem solved.

That, or they insist on slamming their cart into you repeatedly as they stand there talking to their friend... then think that it's rude when you push it back at them.

Thanks so much for that. It made my day. I love Wopper Wednesdays. The BK I often go to in Guelph Ontario, Canada is disgusting and the restroom looks like a third world bus station rest room. I complained once and when I went back, someone had improved it by picking up about 10 percent of the paper towels and toilet paper.

In todays world we rely on the cash register to tell us what the change is, dumbing us down

And even then some clerks still can't provide the right change.

My cell phone is my friend. I always take a picture of the shelf with the price card and the item sitting above it on marked down products. When it doesn't ring up properly I simply show the photo to the clerk and clear the matter up promptly. Saves having the head cashier from running all over the store looking for my item to verify the price while I and others wait impatiently in line.

I just rip off the tag and take it with me, or when I want a rain check. Beats them, going through the flyer to find a SKU.

And they still remember they lost!

That's rather common in stores that have long lines.
Sometimes at COSTCO it seems people get in line with empty carts and runners are sent out.

Which is rather rediculous. Lines at Costco, at least here, move fast! Fastest check out I have ever seen anyplace.
