The other day I was in the Auto Zone parts store. A lady comes in and
asks for a seven ten cap.

We all looked at each other and said, "What's a seven ten cap?"

She said "You know, it's right on the engine. Mine got lost somehow
and I need a new one.

"What does it do?

She said, I don't know, but its always been there.

The Counter Clerk gave her a note pad and asked her if she could
draw a picture.

So she makes a circle about 3 inches in diameter and in the center
she writes 710.

OK, now look at the picture./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

It's funny you should ask that....there actually was a line asking that very question right before the end that I edited out. Just trying not to offend anyone....and I'm not being sarcastic.

Does anyone remember the Tooltime episode where Jill blows up the engine in her Nomad by running the oil out? It went loosly something like this;

Tim: Didn't you notice the little red oil light on the dash?

Jill: Well yeah, but I figured if it was really important it would get brighter or a buzzer would go off.

Tim: Well, now what we have in our garage is a 3000 lbs paper weight!

One of my favorite episodes!!! Except for maybe the one where Tim has an I-beam fall on the Nomad.

Jeff, I know it's hard for folks like us to understand, but several years ago I had a young lady working for me who bought a new Buick and was very proud of it. And about a year and a half later, her mother brought her to work one day because her Buick had quit. It turned out that she had put a lot of miles on it and the hood had never been opened! She said no one ever told her about checking the oil, much less changing it, and of course she never bothered to read the manual in the glovebox. And naturally, she didn't have the money to put a new engine in it.

Heck, I'd be happy if my wife could just keep tabs on the mileage and let me know when a service is due. It's clear that an 8x10 piece of paper taped to the wall in front of her car with the service mileage in 2 inch tall #'s wasn't working. Then I discovered that obscenely expensive FRAM oil filters, that come in the exact same vacuum sealed can that nuts come in, also comes with one of those little plastic things that oil change places stick to the inside of your windshield with the mileage written on it. The jury is still out on that one./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I'm also open to suggestions on how to get her to stop running the gas well down into the red. Explaining that the garbage in the bottom of the tank isn't real good for the injectors didn't work. Finally I just threw up my hands and told her that she would be the one that would have to ruin a day by visiting the Chrysler service department........WOMEN!

At the store where I am currently working we sell lawn mowers. If we don't explain that you have to put the oil in the engine (comes with the new mower) it will come back with a seized engine. This has happened many times.
