This label was attached to a jug of Wet & Forget siding cleaner. I thought it was pretty clever.

Failure!

This product is only
effective if you read the
instructions thoroughly

Failure to do so will result in
you moaning ad groaning
that the product doesn't
work and generally being
a pain in the bottom. Make a
positive change in your life
will you, and read the
instructions

XD. That's hilarious. My parents have a flyswatter with the warning. "NOT TO BE USED ON CHILDREN. They ignored that warning though as I used to get my butt swatted with it a lot as a kid. :)

When I got swatted with it, I'd always remind my parents of that warning. xd They said, I don't care about that warning, I'm gonna use it on you anyway as you need it. And they were right. I did need those butt whippings.

Today they'd get arrested for child abuse, but then nowadays we 'spare the rod and spoil the child'!

That is clever, sure gets your attention and I bet most actually finish reading those instructions.

That is definitely an Attention Grabber. Another thought? That is a way to lessen the Liability suits against the Product and the Company.

Could be. The label was fire engine red, water proof, about 2" x 4", attached by a plastic loop to the neck of the jug just below the cap.

I thought it combined the right mix of humor and customer relations.

I read the instructions on my jug but still didn't get the results the product claims. It did nothing on my roof.

So, were the instructions written so you need a microscope to read them.

Either my eyes are getting old, or my glasses are getting old, but sometimes I have troubles reading the small print on many labels.

No, they are large enough to read, with glasses.

Sorry it didn't work for your roof General Lee. I have some green algae on the north side of the house, vinyl siding. I think I will hose it down and use a brush on it first. Then after it has dried for a day or two, I'll spray the cleaner on.

I was hoping it would remove the black streaks and some minor algae/moss on the roof but it didn't. Maybe its better geared for algae on the siding/fences.

Well, I am going to find out as soon as it gets warm enough for cold water spray to feel good. :D

All I ever use on my vinyl siding is a 50/50 mix of bleach and water. With light mildew or algae just let it sit a couple of minutes then hose it down. With heavy stubborn mildew or algae spray it, let it sit a few minutes, spray it again and then sweep it down with a wide push broom, then hose it off.

Mine always looks like new after.

PS. Vinyl siding instructions say to never use a pressure washer on it because water gets behind the siding causing more rot and mildew. Most people never read those instructions.

Thanks for the tips. I read on here a while back to not use a power washer on vinyl siding, which I probably would have without that advise :p, thanks to you, Eddie and others.

I will be using a garden hose with a light spray setting on the nozzle.

Part of Wet&Forget's claim is that it not only kills what is there, it prevents future growth. I don't take product claims as gospel, but thought I would give it a shot. The siding is going on seven years sold and I have never cleaned it. We only have about four algae growing months per year, so that is only 2.5 years in LA time.
