Ready to trade in my 2305 for a 2320

My decision, about a year and a half ago was easier. I knew the 2305 wouldn't do it for me and the 2320 was only available in Deere's advertising.

Lots of good points made by others in this thread, but I want to put the 2320 vs 2520 power thing into perspective. 2 horsepower doesn't sound like much, but at this level it amounts to 11%, not huge, but significant. More importantly the difference in torque (40.3 ft-lb vs 51.3 ft-lb) amounts to 27% - very significant.

I brush hog about 14 acres with a Woods Brush Bull 60 and would not want any less power. My 48" snowblower plus wings gathers a lot of snow to be moved - less power would be unacceptable.

Find a place where you can get some seat time on each. You know your needs and will make the right pick. Good luck.

The larger clearance on the 2520 or 2320 whould serve you well. For the little extra it would cost I'd just jump to the 2520 and be done with it.

Good luck!

Weeeeeell now here's the slippery slope. "Little extra" is relative. It's like buying just about anything. You start playing the "well for just X dollars more, I can get <insert stuff here> instead" game and it can get out of hand pretty quickly.

Preach on brother!!!:D

Seriously, I have been going through this same decision/discussion also. I decided to finish my skid plate project for the JD 2305 and spend the trade-in difference on a 260 BH instead. :)

After tearing out my transmission fan for the third time last week and struggling to lift a pallet off a trailer (not to mention the numerous pucker moments while doing various chores around the house) I've come to the conclusion that I need to upgrade.
Hmm.... JD 24 month 0% could not have come at a better time:)

Got rid of the fan and the tractor...Drove both the 2320 and the 2520, compared the specs on both....you know the saying "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me":D

Picked out a nice new 2520 and left my "fan" at the dealer;)

Congratulations on your new tractor, and on your choice. By all accounts, the 2520 is a strong tractor, and I'm sure it will give you many years of service, and pleasure! We will need pics of course........
