( I'd prefer being out in the country, but there are family reasons for us being where we are and I'm adaptable. )

And you should know that anytime you want to get out into the country you are welcome. It seems everytime you move, you are getting a little closer to Wise County. Coppell...Lewisville...Corinth... Can Decatur be too far away? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

...and Don, that dish looks mighty good on that cabin. Now, everytime we see a picture, we know which way south is. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm sure glad everything went well with your move. You had a good view in Houston, but you have a graet view in Lee County. Congratulations! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome back .. . I prefer the view from your cabin over the city one ... to see the lights out there - just look up -- and they don't need elect. We're headed up this afternoon for a week of fence building - doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate though.

I'm going to want a full report on that sat internet connection. Bernice will probably still be working when we join y'all out there and she may want to tele-commute - but there isn't even a phone line connection available at pin oak. I've got a tower to put up for cell service - just have to move it - but we'll need sat. for tv & internet will be either cell or sat.

Yep, Jim, we've been moving that direction the last 3 years, but since I bought this place, I think we'll probably stay put. I figured this was about as far out as I wanted to have to drive to the nursing home where my mother is, to my wife's doctors, and to our daughters' places. You know I've got a nice 21' x 25' "shop", but since I figured I'm not really going to be doing much "work" out there, I decided to do like the Beverly Hillbillies and make a billy yard room out of it, so I put an 8' pool table right in the middle. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

And Don's 500 sq. ft. cabin would be plenty big enough for me to live in, as long as I had a big enough barn or shop building. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

500 sq. ft. is kind of small. Even for a retired person. But the open spaces of country living can make it much more bearable. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Glad to hear retirement is going good. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You betcha it is. You guys enjoy it and each other.

I wouldn't have too much trouble with 500 sq. ft. but my wife would unless, ofcourse, it was all kitchen. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I lived in 600 sq. feet in Oklahoma City for 2 years and didn't have a problem with it but my wife felt confined when she came on week-ends.

You guys enjoy your retirement. It's amazing how busy you get once you give up "work". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( Jerry and Bird, a 500 sq. ft. cabin is a tad cramped to live in and we will be moving down the road (La Grange) soon or across the pasture (new construction) in a couple years, or both over a longer span of time..... )

My wife, daughter and I live full time in a 850 sq. foot house. I had it biult for just me 14 years ago, but got married 10 years ago. And yes, it's snug sometimes, but it ain't too bad, and we can afford it. Keeps us from accumulating too much junk (no space) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome back neighbors. I think I saw Sam Drucker down at the corner store. If hay makes you sneeze, I know you can get $70/rnd bale right now! That'll buy some allergy meds.

You'll have to learn how to count Blue birds instead of blue cars. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Sunsets sans skyscrapers too.

Let us know how you like the new dish...Kyle
