Hello, I've been lurking and reading but decided I need to sign up and ask some questions.

I have narrowed it down to two tractors.

A brand new left over 2013 john deere 2520 with loader/bucket and frontier box blade for $16,300
2 year bumper to bumper and 4 year power train, dealer is 20 min away
Or
A brand new 2015 Yanmar 424 with loader/bucket and woods box blade for $15,300
2 year bumper to bumper and 5 year power train, dealer is an hr away.

The yanmar is nice and the cab is spacious and set up nice, 1200lb lift capacity.
But I really like the jd too.

My concerns with the yanmar is adding a 3rd function kit of some sort as I want to get a grapple for either of these I chose. Jd has more aftermarket and dealer parts and support. But yanmar made tractors for jd for years and still use their engines and drive trains. Also resale value is a concern. I'm easy to buy just can't make up my mind, I want the jd but not sure it's worth the extra $1300??? Someone please help me make a choice already lol! Are these prices decent?
No mowing or brush hogging, just loader work, a future grapple and maybe a snow blade.

Yes I'm aware of their simularities, or being the same...... But is the jd gonna be easier to get support from aftermarket and dealers? My main concern is adding a 3rd function of some sort on the yanmar, whereas the jd sells a kit to do it already set up. The yanmar dealer is kinda unsure of being able to do it on the yanmar 424. I'm new to the tractor game??? Any input is appreciated.

I would write down all the specs and compare them side by side. I would also look at slightly used tractors if you're looking to save. Got our yanmar with 13 hours on it. Saved a lot and kept warranty. Just a thought. Tractors will either feel right or they won't. Also remember the JD is 2 years old(er)

I can't help with the kit issue. What kind of third function?

I want to have hydros up front for a grapple set up, whether it be a third function kit or a diverter?

It seems all the used tractors around here are the same or more than a new one

I would buy the one that feels best while running it. Installing a line for a grapple should be easy on just about any machine weather you use a factory kit or aftermarket stuff. In fact with most things from JD I have ended up skipping their kits and installing aftermarket stuff as it always seems to save me money.

Your preference seems to be for the Yanmar (based on your post) so I would focus on it rather than something that's already a few years old Unless the JD dealer can make a much better deal on their machine.

Will the John Deere dealer match the Yanmar 424 price?

I like the Yanmar better I think, however, the John Deere will have better long term dealer support and you will be able to sell it faster and for more money when that time comes.

I agree about the dealer support and the resale value, I'm gonna work on the deere dealer some more.
