Ok guys.... I want a rear blade for my BX23. The dealer says to stay at or below 60 inches wide. I would like one that tilts as well as swivels. Any help on who makes this type of annimal? Any other points of interest will be fabulous. Thanks

Take a look at Midwest. http://tinyurl.com/6gtt7 I have a Model 22 coming for my BX2230. Midwest is the OEM for Kioti and soon to be another impoprt tractor for the rear blades and rakes. I looked at several and decided for the money Midwest was pretty hard to beat.

Modern Equipment in Beaumont, Texas makes a 5' tilting blade but I don't know if they have any dealers up your way.

I have the 6' tilting blade and I would rate it as "OK". It is pretty loose where the adjustment pins go in. In other words, I suspect the tilt pin would allow the blade to move about 1" from horizontal on the ends. I may try to tighten that up since I probably won't be using the tilt on the blade.

I would prefer a tighter fit but have not looked at other brands so I don't know if they are all that way or not.

BTW, the 6' was $335 + tax here in East Texas.

I like the Modern PHD and the the BB looks pretty nice too. I might have to give them a serious look for other toys. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a Midwest RB22-60 on my BX23 - it has the tilt, offset, and swivel features. When I was looking around at rear blades the Midwest seemed like the best deal of the bunch if you want all those features. The offset in particular is easy to use - you just take out some pins and move the blade and put the pins back in. I believe the Woods and most of the others you need to unbolt the blade and rebolt it up to offset it. I did not want that because I wanted to able to move the blade without carrying tools around. Midwest also makes blades for Kioti and for Corriher. The blade I got is actually a Kioti blade for two reasons - there was Kioti dealer in my area that had it in stock ( and I couldn't find any Midwest dealers) and because it is orange it matches my BX23. The 60" size works great with the BX.

Now for the downside - you will have to modify the blade to get it work on the BX 3pt because of the limited lift capacity. The modification is pretty easy - you need move the lower mounting points downward about 6" - this will change the geometry so that you will get as much lift out of the blade as any other BX sized implement. I have attached some pics of the mod I did - it has worked out great. I can even spin the blade around 180 degrees with it attached to the tractor with this mod.

Another pic showing mod to upper mounting frame - I use this blade in a Speeco quick hitch so I put in a bushing for the upper mount point.

The brackets to lower the mount points were made with 5x5 angle iron and bolted to the frame - they could be removed and the blade used on a regular Cat1 3pt.
