Chains rear chains for 1220

I bought a used 1220 4X4 with turf tires. To avoid the expense of going to Ags, I bought a set of chains. The rears did not fit. Store won't take them back. They don't fit because there is not enough room between the turf tire and the fender. Can wheels be reversed for more room? Can spacers be installed? Any other ideas would be appreciated.

My rear turfs have a offset on the rims so I can turn them either way,yours might have the same type.Tom

Tom, forgive my ignorance, does this offset, by turning rims around, give me more room between the tires and fender? Thanks for your response. DR

It will give more distance between the sidewall of the tire and the fender,nothing changes to the outside diameter of the tire unless you let some air out.hope this helps,Tom

Yes, by reversing your rims the chains will clear your fenders. I have used chains on mine by doing this with no problems. Remember to tie up any extra links to keep from banging the fenders.
