Well needed to change seals on rear axles, left side hub pulled off by hand. Right side is stuck, tried a puller and heated hub and I broke the puller. Any suggestions.

If you wasn't using a Heavy Duty puller then most auto parts stores will rent you one. If it was then your going to have to pull the pto and remove the clip from the Axle and pull it out. Then you can do what you want with it. I have heard of guys having to cut the hub off of the axle. I had to replace a seal also which was Real tight but the HD. puller and 1/2inch DR. Imp. pulled it off thank goodness. Noway was I in any shape to have to disassemble the axel.

Sometimes you have to get the hub real hot to pull it off, I've changed a lot of them and never broke a puller.

You might try Soundguy's trick - heat the hub and apply beeswax and solvent, which will be drawn into the rusted hub/axle connection.

Then next day come back with heat and the puller.

I did not think the 2000 had inner clips? if it did how did her or you get ur s off, oh never mind i got it hub off axle, otherwise you will have to pull axle and hub as an assembly, right.

Thats correct Clemsonfor. If a gear puller won't budge it then your going in and pulling the hole Axle assembly. What California was posting about useing wax should work in the worst case senario. I have done it pulling gears off graphic machinery. Even if that doesn't work the pto comes out fairly easy so you can get to the pin. Personaly I would just order a new/used hub if I had to do that.Plenty of those around :p

Thanks everyone.
Heres what I did, Since lft hub came off easy, I bolted it on the other side with 1/2x4 bolts with the main body of puller sandwiched in the middle. I tightened with 24" breaker bar, Then heated it for about ten minutes, then a loud pop, I kept heating and tightening until it was off.
