Just bought a used mf 362 and the rear did not raise.I pulled the top cover and found a roller off of the draft tube.Fixed this with new filters and fluid.Started the tractor,it now lifted but would not lower.Removed the two bolts from the diverter valve and the hoist will lower.Any help or suggestions before I remove the top again?tks.

Not familiar with the 362, when you removed the divertor how is it plumbed to the pump? On my 135, there is a standpipe, once the divertor block is removed the system is open and any pressure on the three point will be relieved through the top of the standpipe. I had my back blade on, it was resting on the ground but there was enough residual pressure to see some fluid spilling out the top of the standpipe.

You are practically my neighbor, thanks for the reply. The 362 is very simular in most ways as the 135,just some newer upgrades. The standpipe is direct from pump to the valve.Thinking my problem is in the pump only because when i removed the diverter block,it would lower with fluid coming out of the pipe...Is there a mf dealer in your area where I can take the lift cover and have all the right adjustments made? The next time it goes together I want it right. Thanks again for the reply.I know people with parts for 135,35,165,to20 and more.

Make sure the response control lever is not in the SLOW position ,if not adjusted properly this will stop the hydrauilcs from lowering this is an easy check .
The response lever is next to the transmission oil level dipstick you wiil see slow /fast written on the plate.
Happy Days .

Neighbours is good, always nice to hear from a fellow Maritimer.

After playing with mine I realized that each time I took off the block I was lifting the standpipe out of the pump just enough that the seal would sit in its groove in the pump where it should be before releasing itself from the block. It's a bit of a pain in the butt, what I ended up doing was carefully making sure the standpipe was positioned in the pump (you'll feel the o-ring seat itself in the pump) and then I used vaseline to help insert the upper end of the standpipe into the block without forcing the lower end out of its seat in the pump. Took a couple of tries but once it was installed properly it made all the difference.

Good luck.

PS; a link to someone who experienced a similar issue.

Hi 362 trent .
Im sorry but what mike 476 is not so .
If you pull the diverter valve of ,the stack pipe should stick out about 1/4 of an inch THIS INDICATES THAT THE PIPE IS PROPERLY INSTALLED If not ,To make sure, remove the sidecover plate the one with the trans dipstick on it ,with the engine STOPPED put your left hand in there and at the same time lower the standpipe guiding it in with your left hand ,PUSH IT ALL THE WAY DOWN AND THE PIPE WILL STICK OUT 1/4 INCH, It will not go in to far because it has a shoulder in the pump that wont allow it to ,this done PULL THE ENGINE STOP OUT to stop the engine running and set the draft lever to up and the position lever to transport and crank the engine you will get oil coming out of the pipe if not there is something else wrong possibly the control valve or the adjustment.
Happy days
Hutch.

Could a stuck control valve prevent the lift from coming down when running,or keep it in constant pump mode. What about
when the motor is off? I have a little insight on trent 362. My brother!
