Rear mounted 7 way convenience plug plug question

Most newer model tractor have the plug on the back pre wired ... my JD 5520 has and I plug my round baler into that ... handles tail lights and I guess sends info to the bale monitor in the cab???

Anyway if an older model tractor does not have said plug ... I assume just buy one and follow the wiring instructions ... Has anyone added a plug to an older tractor that doesn't have one? Any advise?

7 terminal plug on rear of tractor has nothing to do with monitor on a JD rd baler as monitor has a separate power plug and baler monitor wiring.

Okay ... so then the plug on the baler that plugs into the tractor is simply for the baler taillights, brake lights and such ... really doesn't have to be plugged in?

Thanks Chris ... Yep thats what I have on the JD 5520 ... I was thinking about putting one on my other tractor ... but as Don stated it actually doesn't do anything for the monitor so I'm thinking just go ahead and use the baler on that tractor with out adding the extra wiring.
