The Gearmore and TCC units mount like that. I didn't really like that type of mount as I felt it was too intrusive. Since I usually sit somewhat sideways when working a 3pt implement, mounting the valve block where I did still allows full use of the hand rail and the 3pt position control lever.

I finally got my tilt link cylinder from Integration Engineering (same one as on their TCC setup) and installed it. I did run into a few problems which I will document in the following posts. Overall I am happy with the final result but it was not a complete drop in installation.

Cost for the tilt cylinder was $253 + $25 shipping. My hoses and fittings were acquired locally and ran about $30. The new lower adjustable fork from Kubota was $33.

This picture is for MadDog.

I moved the adjustable link over to the left side to allow for leveling adjustments. In order for the lift arms to be level when the tilt cylinder is extended half way, the lower fork had to be extended 3 inches. This still gives plenty of adjustment on the adjustable link.

I purchased a new lower fork from Kubota and machined two extensions from bar stock and welded them in place. A couple of holes and a little ROPS gray paint finished it off.

This picture shows the modifications I made to the tilt cylinder lower forks. In order to keep the length of the adjustable fork as short as possible, I drilled a new hole up about 1 inch from the existing hole in the tilt cylinder lower forks. The 2 fender washers are there to allow the clevis pin holes to line up better.

For the top link and the tilt link cylinders I used 1/4" hoses. One thing about the TCC tilt cylinder is that the threads on the check valve are 3/8 BSPP. All I could find locally was a BSPP to JIC adapter to which I added a JIC to NPT adapter and then the hoses. It works.

One last thing. You can always get more tilt when tilting towards the side with the tilt cylinder. You get about 2/3 of that amount of tilt when tilting towards the side with the adjustable link. The diference will make no difference to me for what I have to do, but it may make a difference to others.

Can't you change that so it's equal distance, simply by re-adjusting the length of the non-hydraulic adjustable link. I did on mine.

Not when you set the adjustable link so that the box blade is level when the hydraulic link is extended half way. The TCC hydraulic link has a 5" stroke. It really pushes the lower lift arm down. When tilting the other direction, the other lift arm does not go as low.

I think this has to do with the geometry of the 3pt with everything extended 3" along with the 2.5" cylinder stroke for half way. The TCC cylinder adds 3" by itself when retracted to the distance between the upper and lower lift arms. The actual lift height is shortened a bit too.

However, even 2/3 tilt is a lot. See picture.

Here is the tilt towards the hydraulic cylinder side.

Tilting to the right does cause the box blade to touch the ground when the tractor is sitting level.

I think the problem is that the generic TCC cylinder is actually too long in both stroke and actual size for the shorter lift heights on the B series. If the stroke was say 4" and the overall retracted length was equal to the fixed link (which has been discarded) then you would get equal tilt in both directions.

However, with the way it is now there is plenty of tilt, just more in one direction with a loss of a few inches of lift height. An acceptable compromise, I think.
