Reason enough to change your own oil

The lube techs were given unrealistic and unachievable sales quotas to meet. So, they did whatever it took to keep their jobs. Do you see any parallels with the teaching scandal in Atlanta where teachers were changing test scores? The problem starts at the top of management.

In my opinion, franchises are nothing but money machines. I went with a friend to a franchise sales seminar. After the sales pitch and some thought, my friend said "this is nothing but a money machine, they do not care about the trade." Needless to say, he did not buy one. On the other hand, maybe he should have bought one. He could have milked it for every dime he could by screwing the customer then show a prospective buyer the great numbers then sell for a great profit. The next buyer repeats the cycle. Hmm, Sounds sort of like flipping houses doesn't it.

All I can say about the video, is that I worked in a big chain tire wholesaler for a while, and this was common practice. In fact, the people burned the most were the loyal repeat customers. the manager knew they came in every 3000 miles for service, and would tell you to "just add oil, and wipe the filter." I do all my own fluid changes except for Coolant flush, which I can test, and visually check.

Wrenchturner ... My reason for posting this is to protect the honest lube techs from the cheats. IF all the techs can't meet the quota what does that say about the quota? BUT if a cheat meets the quota, the honest techs get hosed. Further if the management condones the cheats, then their business should suffer.
