Reasons not to buy an RTV 1100C?

If it was me looking for one I would pass on this one. Something that has been treated so badly sends up a red flag. I would either bite the bullet and take advantage of zero percent financing and create my own battle scars over many years, that is.

I bought a used 900 with 300hrs. It now has 530 hrs. It has battle scars. Mine is used to work. Very few hours have been put on it idling around doing nothing.

I consider it a miniature diesel 4wd dump bed ton truck
Battle scars come with the territory.

If purchasing an RTV for cosmetics and pleasure riding abovee comments do not apply. And your probably buying the wrong rig. Nothing uglier than an RTV.

That was my original thought. Who cares that he dragged it along a gate post every day, it doesn't effect the machine other than it's battle hardened.

But everyone around me... Online, on YouTube and my family send to think that the cosmetics are telling that the machine mechanics are questionable.

My option B.... Buy it, fix only what I can straighten and paint, aftermarket soft cab it as cheap as I can and no heat for around $1500. Add a plow for around $3000. I'm in $14,500 give or take... compared to $22,500 for a new factory cab 2 door.

The 4 door also has an 18" longer bed, so an additional row of firewood since I cut 16" sections.

I need 10 mph and a dump bed. No way do I want a truck so I can spend 6 months of the year winching it around my property.

Oh, I thought one of the requirements was the unit also needed to travel at 40 mph. A dump bed could be installed on the Tacoma for about $1,500. A Tacoma equipped with the right tires, in four wheel drive will go most places a RTV will go.

I called and said no, that I totaled up the parts and I just can't do it. The Gap is to close and the abuse is to great.1547046157197.jpeg20190109_071642.jpegreceived_327870784500255.jpeg

My 900 is open station. 90% of the time I prefer that. 10% a cab would be nice to have. I don't push snow.

For me I'd want Jeep style removable doors. In fair weather doors would be a big inconvenience.

In your situation where your primary task is snow removal I think you made the right choice.

I also have a 70 year old father is is likely to get older for a long while... And he wants to have the cab so that he can take the dogs out in the winter and her can get a break from the cold in the cab. And when it's 90+ he can go check gas wells in AC.... And I can plow my driveway in heat. Lots of valid arguments. I've never had a cab before, but as my father gets older it send to be making sense. He's got hand, neck and upper spine arthritis that is getting pretty bad. A time will come when he flat out can't walk down over the hill into the woods with the dogs. And he really likes the idea of the heat, he doesn't mind hot weather nearly as much as the cold.

I'm 67. No physical limitations yet. I can relate to your Dad's needs and desires.

My 900 is a fair weather machine. Kubota cabs are very nice!!!

We'll need pics of course. :)

I had a x900 Kubota with cab and heater, traded for a John Deere XUV835M HVAC a couple of months ago. Wanted to trade for the the Kubota Sidekick with a cab, heater and blade. Saved several thousand dollars going with the Gator. No complaints at all about the Gator but I don't use it for heavy duty work like I believe the Kubota would do. Gator much quieter than Kubota and it will go 47 mph if I wanted it to supposedly. Got it up to 35 and that was fast enough for me.

I test drove the 1100C, it was not as quiet as the Gator, even though I don't use all the speed the Gator will give me, it is nice to have it compared to the Kubota.

I think so far the heater and the shifting is the big difference between the Gator and X900. Will have to see how the AC is this summer.
