I use it when I have too. If you can clean it out and have a place for a pile you can flip over once in a while......... Replace it with new, when it plugs up, the old stuff should be clean and ready to use again.

I know a couple of guys, that preventing erosion would be the best they could contribute:) In general sadly I am considered riff raff.

I'm thinking you can use riff-raff you just can't depend upon it to actually do the job.
