The mowing I do is keeping weeds and small sapling from taking hold in my woods. I could care less about scaling. Not enough sunlight to get much grass to grow anyway.

Yes, I'm using sway chains. It did not start out getting in my tires. I found the pins that attach the sway chains to the frame were bent and stretched.

I had the eye bolt attachments for my 4.4 pound Kubota factory check chains bend too. I replaced factory check chains with aftermarket, rigid, pin-adjustable rigid stabilizers from Stabilworks / 14 pounds / <$200. Problem solved.

It is MUCH easier to mount implements on the three-point-hitch with Stabilworks.

Use the T-B-N search function, keyword: Stabilworks for reviews.

Don't think those will work for my 750. Not worth some modification.

For you're info. I talked to lowery Manufacturing today, and they say an Andy 500 cutter weights 517#. The same size cutter in their Clipper series weights 432#

Well the place that I was sure had the Lowery cutters is no longer selling them.

I also found a County Line 4ft at Tractor Supply for $800. From what I read, they might be rebranded King Kutter.

There have been threads here indicating Tartar now supplies County Line to TSC.

Yeah, I do a lot of woods cutting too. That's where the extra tail wheels really shine. Ground is a lot more uneven in the woods and the extra wheels help keep the blades from scalping roots, old stumps, rocks, etc. Not worried about the grass either, just tryin to keep my blades intact. ;)

I am considering either the LMC Clipper 350 or the LMC Clipper 400. I spoke to LMC, they said the Clipper 350 weight is 320# the Clipper 400 weight is 370#. My local dealer is quoting $650.00 for the 400. He said he would not order me a 350 because he did not want to stock the blades for it. He said the 350 was such a small cutter people just get the 400.

Is $650.00 a fair price for a LMC Clipper 400? I have not priced one at any other dealer (yet). I have a Kubota BX2670 so I am concerned about weight and also maneuverability . I am thinking the 350 might work better for me but the dealer had no interest in ordering me one. I could go to another dealer but I kinda wanted to shop local. I guess he just wants to sell what he has in stock.

The $790.00 price for the King Kutter sounds good. I have not seen one at that price point. Is that for the L40-40P (40") or the L48-10P (48") XB model? From what I see on this forum, the fit and finish of a KK is better than the LMC. I did some serches for the KK XB 40" model and could not seem the locate any dealer who stocked it much less list a price. Can anyone supple a link to a dealer that stocks the 40" model?

Will the Clipper 400 work ok with my BX2670?

Thanks

I'm actually really glad i bought a single tail wheel in the 7ft. The dual tail wheel would have definitely been a problem in the woods for me. with the single tail wheel i can actually swing it around and get the back of the deck very close to the trees as I'm working in an around the trees on my trails. I probably would have swung a dual tail wheel into a tree already. My property pretty much entirely sloped in one direction or the other but its generally fairly smooth with very few harsh transitions so i don't really encounter much scalping
