A follow-up -
First, thanks to everyone for offers and suggestions. I've moved to Dreamhost.com. They had no issues with my frequent updates. I did ask both the sales and technical staff before I signed up. On a side note, Hostgator would not allow frequent updates on shared servers, but would on dedicated accounts.

Network Solutions did not make the move easy. I'll skip the rant.

You're too kind. But a good rant re. NS might well help others going through a similar situation. I can't imagine what they could do to complicate the transfer given there's a pretty clear path one can take to transfer a domain registration. I've done so a number of times with various domains with no particular problems.
