Ipods are overpriced and they can't be used for running etc since they have moving parts.

I remember downloading from Napster but Napster was a wild west show. They are better sites now.

But then again my 512 MB player is getting small for my long runs!

They can and are used for running every day! And they are reliable and hold up very well when used for playing music while running. Not sure where you got your information from, but you might want to try an iPod. Then again I'm a Mac/iPod user, so what the heck do I know?

That is very odd since very running forum I have gone to and MAC forums say the shocks on the hard drive will skip down the road.

Personal runner note: The runners I run with on our weekend long runs (3 to 4 hours- 18 to 25 miles) always have problems (skips or stops playing.) We are not doing the littel 6 milers here! I personally think it is because running is too much shock can lead to problems on the RW head on the drive and then it can't read it.

Nothing like being out 21 miles and the wonderful Ipods stops. But my little cheap Buslink 512 MB (too small now) keeps going..... For $62 I might add. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif When I put on over 40 miles per week, I need things that work.

PS. I have tried one and it is too big, to hard to hold, buttons are poorly laid out and too heavy.

Also the cheaper iPod Shuffles are overpriced compared to others.

Dargo,

When I buy music from iTunes, I burn them to a music CD and then rip from that using another CD Ripper. That way I get the music and do not need to worry about the DRM (Digital Rights Management) or the iTunes proprietary format (I prefer MP3s). I know that it's a pain for the extra step, but I love the convenience of being able to download a song I here on the radio instantly!
