Reconditioned tractors

Remember checking out refurbs from EFC in washington before buying my ford 3000 and then my 554 chinese Rhino. Have about $8 k in the Rhino and that includes a USA FEL and grapple. it also weighs in at about 7200lbs and is 50+ hp.

They used to have pictures on the site showing some of the tractors headed to Vietnam for refurb, Usually what was left over- after the nice ones went to the better quality non VN refurbers.

Talk about sorry looking machines, there was a burned one and even it was headed for a VN refurb..

They always get nice shiny paint and a brand new hour meter:laughing:

There are new Yanmar 32hp 4x4 fel hydro machines for a just under $17000 or 45 hp gear models for 19.5k with full warranty at some dealers
I know prices vary by location but...

The price for that refurb just seems to high.

Yep, Buck at EFC is 1 of the dealers I was referring to. He showed pictures of tractors that went to VN to be reconditioned (basically what everyone else would have sold for scrap iron). He said they would take parts off several tractors to make 1. A piston from here a valve from there, etc, etc, paint, Turn the HR meter to low or no HRS and call it a reconditioned tractor

Yeah - He had a lot of great information on a logical way to approach buying a new or used tractor .
If I had bought a grey market - it very likely would have come from his company.

Looking at the site- it looks like Buck has gotten more into selling new Mahindras and not so much importing greys,

I can't blame him - flying all those miles to make sure he always got quality units for his customers, was definitely going the extra mile, (literally) and the time away from home and family must be a drain.

JMO but- Some of these (OTHER) importers could learn a lot about making sure the customer gets a quality tractor from Buck.

This dealer is in Mesquite, andI have never bought a tractor from them.
I have gotten parts for my hinomoto, and my bad boy from them.
They are very good people to deal with.
The name is Vina tractor, I believe they also sell Branson.

Fredricks equipment (here in Alabama) is 1 of (if not the last) of the importers that buys the best yanmar tractors. They are also the ones that pioneered the safety equipment for these old yanmars

The thread title should be: Needing to be refurbished tractors. If you buy one of those maybe also get a mail order bride while you're at it. One's bound to satisfy, the other's maybe OK for plowing?!

Coldwater tractors in the Seattle region seems to have picked up where EFC and Ernie left off. Decent used tractors simply detailed then generally sold with simple loaders that he builds in-house. But with the increased costs in Japan now, I doubt he's making the markup that they did.

Does anybody know where the pto safety shield and the drawbar with the stabilizer chain links on it came from?

The PTO shield is the biggie. I made a drawbar a few years back. Neither show a PTO shield for the 1510. Evidently the 1510 most often came with a tiller. And according to a specs page on Little Miami Trading Company you can't have a tiller and a PTO shield.

"PTO Shield (NOT available for the 1510 due to the constraints of the two-point hookup for the tiller)"
