Red Farm Diesel....over 500ppm

ITS ALL LOW SULFUR "ULSD". The pumps say no.1 diesel heating fuel dyed or "stove oil" Probably cut it with kerosene.... dont know dont care. No.2 diesel died off road non-taxable use, No.2 clear for on-road usage. This different grade of diesel OR ULSD thing has been argued over in other threads too... run what you want to run, add what you want to add to it. ALL diesel eventually will be low sulfur everywhere for anything, just a matter of time, unless you live somewhere other than the U.S. Not gunna get away from it.
I believe we're much closer to this point in time than most people realize.

Well.....at the time (a couple of days ago), it was $1.88 a gallon. I did enjoy the bill. My tractor holds 33 gallons, and when fuel was 4 bucks, it was a painfull fillup!

2* *I'd think LSD has probably been phased out and has faded out by the wayside by now

There is one station on the Maryland/Delaware line where I have been able to find it for the past 2 years, even after the change over to ULSD occurred. I'll be interested to see, when I make a trip later in the month, as to whether or not they have switched yet.

Relax

The only reason I asked was you made it sound like your heating oil was different. Just wondering what it would have been.

Here if it is #2 wether it is Fuel oil, off road or on road it is all the same

Sorry duffster, Didn't mean to go off, my bad. The owner of the depo said its all the same. Color only to make it easier for the D.O.T to ruin someones day in my opinion.....Relaxed and in less than seven quotes.

I just bought 150 gallons of off-road LSD. The company said it must be ULSD by 2011 (I believe) but they are still using LSD for off-road. The driver and the main office also said they use different tanks for home heating oil versus off-road versus on-road so obviously it depends upon where you get your fuel. He said they have the capability to die the ULSD on their truck if one of the farmers wants both on-road and off-road delivered at the same time and does not mind that the off-road will be ULSD. However, he said, very few farmers take that option but come 2011 that is what they will be doing. He also said the gel point of their off-road is 5ー F without adding anything because it has little wax. That information really surprised me. He said it had surprised him as well.
