Your diagram is exactly the way I was thinking. I didn't see the two lever valve before. There should not be any heat issues as you are not using the wedge or log lift all the time, plus the fact that you are not maxing out the cyl all the time .

Im pretty sure the circuit will work the way i want is as drawn. Just waiting to hear back on cost.

Its not looking good for the priority flow!

I cant find a priority flow valve anywheres. And prince is 6 weeks out if i order. That wont do!!

So i think what im going to do is run the splitter wedge off the PB port on the 2 spool. Not only will it be cheaper, it uses readily available parts. To control flow to the aux circuit im going to use 1/2 hose, but install restricting orifices at the base of the cylinders.

See attached revised schematic. Any suggestions?

2/30 0r 3/30 would be perfect. I really dont want to rob too much due to the fact that flow on high pressure is already low enough.

But shipping+brokerage from Surplus will likely be a killer. It will make a $100 Valve close to $140 id bet. And then there's a time thing. I cant wait a month for it to get here as i still have to get my wood in!

If i can get by with the PB i think ill go that route. The PB converter is only $20 and in stock. That way i can run my aux when needed and still have full flow to the splitter. Ill run the aux circuit at 3000PSI and if i blow a cyl... well Princess Auto is pretty good for warranty

If i add a conveyor at a later date ill look at adding it then.

I doubt you'll have trouble with blowing a cylinder, the 2500 psi rating has a safety factor.

Regardless of what you're buying in components, I'd recommend checking prices with Hydraulic Systems in Burnside, Dartmouth. I got most of the components for my power angle and remote setup from them, at about 30% less than Princess Auto would sell them for. It was all on the shelf, plus the added bonus of dealing with someone on the counter who actually knew what they were talking about. If you do call, ask for John (last name Whitney maybe ?)

Do you have any distributors for "Brand" hydraulics in your neck of the woods? They also make priority flow controls.

Cylinders are usually made with at least a 3:1 safety margin so I wouldn't loose a lot of sleep on running them to 3,000 PSI. Just try to limit the amount of shock / spikes they will see.

Sean, i talked to HS in burnside when i was looking for the valve. No dice. Ill give them a call on the hose though. If i understand they are the Prince importers for this area, if they didnt have it, nobody will.

Roy, I think Kinecor carries Brand. Anyways, during my hunt i asked if they (the retailers) had an equivalent in another brand if they didnt have Prince, Nobody did.

Really frustrating. Youd think i was looking for a part for the Space Shuttle!!! Nobody stocks ANYTHING thats even remotely out of the ordinary:mad:

Ive looked for a Canadian equivalent to Surplus Hydraulics and found nothing. About as close to that we have is Princess Auto, but they dont have near the selection. It would be a great business opportunity for someone.

Not sure if Kinecore have people that know hydraulics or just model codes. If you are willing to try I would suggest looking at the Brand website and finding a model code or two and then call Kinecore back. I have worked for hydraulic OEM's and distributors. They are like car salesman, some good and some not..

Roy, believe me there are some dummies selling hydraulics (my local branch for example) But in my case i deal with the guys on the hydraulic tech line at the central office. These guys know their stuff!

Kinecor and TRC are listed as distributors for Brand. http://www.brand-hyd.com/distributors/show.asp?CANS There are a couple dealers i havent called listed however. I may give them a ring and see if they have anything on the shelf.

Im starting to just believe that just going with the PB off the first valve will be a lot easier (and cheaper). I wont have dedicated restricted flow to the aux circuit but i dont think ill really need it, at least not at this time.

Curl circuit?

This isnt hooked to my tractor, its stand alone. 22GPM 2 stage barns pump w/14hp motor.

The split was to power the accessories on the splitter like the log lift and wedge lift, and a conveyor potentially in the future.
