Reducing flow and pressure in hydraulic branch circuit

/ Reducing flow and pressure in hydraulic branch circuit #41
I'm not a math wiz, but having worked with disk mowers which use one way cylinders to lift a gravity to lower, I decided to follow their lead to slow down the speed of my log lift even though I am using a 2 way cylinder. (I don't have to worry about rusting the cylinder bore like single acting do.) I went to my local implement dealer and picked up a single reducing orifice to go inline between my valve and the 1/2" hose going to the base of my cylinder. It worked but as another poster warned, it whined and was too slow. I removed it & drilled the hole a little larger - 3/32". Now no whine but still too slow, I went to a 1/4" hole and found the speed/control I like.

This is hind site now, but you could have used 1/4 in hose to connect the cyl.

Splitter is complete and i gave it a test tonight.

I ran the aux in 3/8 hose. It slowed it down quite a bit. The wedge lift is fine for speed.

The log lift is a bit touchy but manageable if you feather the controls. I may add an orifice to the circuit if necessary, but right now it seems OK

Finished pics in the build thread.
