Relieving Pressure in FEL Hoses

/ Relieving Pressure in FEL Hoses #11
I always have had somewhat of a problem especially when the laoder sits for a long time. I found out that the back of my bucket being heavier than the front the back would sink and tend to roll the front up. Thus creating pressure even though I did equalize everything. I don't have a solid place to put my loader so what I do before disconnecting is I roll my bucket forward as fas as it will go thus preventing the bucket from moving while sitting. Since then I have not had any trouble. Now my loader is different than the John Deere so I don't know if you can even do that. I think John Deere has the arms?

Mike, You are so darn smart!

I"ll bet you even polished that up before you took that picture!

BTW guys,

If I had any time to fix this, I would have initially posted on TBN, knowing that the answers would be at my fingertips here. That said, what was at my fingertips was hydraulic fluid (but only from the tractor side) and I had a project to go. Anyway, I called Deere from my cell phone. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

have as good of control as others do, we dribble or worse yet spray

Pineridge. I am not sure why your eating habits are relevant to this post.....?

Any way just push the fitting up against something hard and usually it will release without to much mess. Unless of course you did not clear the lines in the first place or pressure has built up. Then Pineridges tool is the way to go!

JASTN70D,

Those buggers weren't about to give. So what I did or PineRidge's tool were the way to go. As for the suggestion that i relieve the pressure when I take the loader off, I had never even considered it. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I do however think a concrete slab or perhaps another shed is in my future! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Just be sure that something big and heavy isn't being supported by the pressure in those lines - would hate to have succumb to gravity after you depressurize the line.

Chris,

Good point. Although, I didn't have to worry about this, you can imagine frustration taking over common sense. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Since no one actually mentioned the process of relieving the pressure BEFORE you remove the loader, I will. Once you have unhooked the loader from the tractor, have the stands in place, tractor OFF, move the joystick around until there is no movement of any part of the loader then disconnect the fittings.
Unless you get pressure build up over time after that, you should have no problem reconnecting the fittings next time. John

KiotiJohn,

I do always do this, but I'm glad you brought it up. Where I store the loader behind my shed is all woodchips; gets pretty hard most of the year, but we've had a real wet winter and not really that cold. I just think as it sank in, the geometry moved and increased pressure to the lines.

I've noticed the same problem if the temperature is higher when I go to connect the lines than when I disconnected them. I suspect that it is caused by the hydraulic oil in the lines and cylinders expanding.
