One of the things we really didn't like about CO was how small the roads where when you are in the mountains, and how congested they are with traffic. For fun while fighting the traffic, we would count Subaru's. It wasn't uncommon for every 4th car to be a Subaru!!!!

Been to Hill Country and Tyler and could enjoy living in either. To much snow and cold in Montana and Colorado. Ready for 4 seasons instead of just 2.

Same here. I grew up in the Great Plains; and I get claustrophobia in mountainous areas. Any time you can't pull over on the shoulder, or find a place to park, or where it's a 100 foot drop at the edge of the road, I get anxious...especially with someone riding your bumper.

My Mrs., as well, is 7 yrs younger than I & gets job offers all over the WORLD for her particular medical expertise.
I remember a time when we were actually filling out the paperwork for immigration into Cairo, Egypt!
I almost put my Missouri behind down there with the pyramids!
9/11 came, went & left us feeling that moving where all the turbulence IS might not be our wisest move.
She still gets offers for anywhere from Fairbanks to Hilo for 2 or 3 times what she's currently making!
She's a transplanted Canadienne & I've moved far too many times in my life to look forward to moving again, willingly.
I ponder what I'll look like with a toe tag and a one way trip to the place where the Neptune Society keeps post marking the mail I throw out.
Besides, most of our stuff belongs on the burn pile, the dumpster or the GoodWill shelves.

There are areas in the Hill Country that are just like that. 46 between Boerne and 16, parts of 173 south of Bandera, 16 between Bandera and Kerrville and the best drive in the state, I think, 337 from Medina to Camp Wood.

My Father lived in Kerrville for a bit and my Sister and family spent years in Camp Wood. All nice country. 3 relatives were murdered in Bandera County in 1863.

Meh on spring. A few nice days to get your hopes up, then settles back to 45 and overcast. Frost doesn't really come out of the ground 'til early May, then the blackflies hit. I don't mind winter, summers and fall are beautiful.

Great motorcycling roads there too. The roads we called Three Sisters is top notch.
