Removed the FEL

   / Removed the FEL #31
I dropped mine for the first time this weekend. I'm new to the tractor (L3430) and the loader (Woods 1012). The Woods manual is light on instruction. It almost went OK... my mistake was parking in the carport. When I was mounting it back on the bucket crept too close to the wall. Nerve wrecking to be mounting for the first time with 6 inches to play with! Until I get used to the process, I'll be dropping it with plenty of room. Other than the wall, it seemed to go pretty well for the first time. I'm sure I'll learn the little 'tricks' to aligning quickly after several more cycles. Also, I think HST would be helpful in mounting (I have GST). Overall, it's woth the trouble to be able to run around without that big nose cone if you are not using it.

Posted on another thread, this one more to the point. My B3030 has a L403 that is supposed to be quick on/off; however, if not parked on completely level ground (concrete pad, for example), good luck with the "quick" part! The arms will not disengage from the bottom pins. It took me 35 minutes to detach the FEL, using methods not specified in the manual. I'm dreading the Fall when I have to put it back on. My tractor barn has a dirt floor, it's hard to park completely level. I have a feeling I'm going to be hoisting that FEL in order to get it back on.
