Removed the FEL

   / Removed the FEL #11
You guys need to try the Deere for quick and easy remove and install of the FEL :D

No pins to line up. Drop the FEL without getting out of the seat until disconnecting the four hyd. hoses. That is what is "easy".

(Now, if there was a way to make quicker/easier hyd. hose connectors :) )

Sorry for infiltrating the thread with green. :D

Well for me, I don't care for the John Deere brake setup on the size tractors I use and in my area they are quite a bit more expensive.

No problem with invading, the more people know the better able they are to make the best selection decision.

I own a Deere too as well as Case and MF.

Oh, I also have a ground crew to pull pins etc.

Kosby - Can you post some pics of your 3200 w/out the FEL on? How many hours you got on that puppy? Looks emaculate.

i am 50-50 (only have had the FEL off 4 times) with the hoses going right back on, when i do have some pressure in the line i break loose a fitting on the FEL. and everything is fine.

how do you like that mower? i have the same one and like it alot but still learning the swing when i come to the corner post in the fence  and the fence show it.

Been wanting to drop my loader, just to do it. But it looks so intimidating, maybe I'll try now, you convinced me.

Never mind the cluttered garage (a man will resort to all kinds of things to make a new toy fit and nearly take a cussing from the wife explaining why room wasn't made for her car). Anyway, I decided to take the FEL for two reasons, 1. to learn how and 2. make things easier while mowing. It was pretty simple to do. Followed the instructions but didn't really lift the front wheels, or at least it didn't appear to . After lowering the stands, I lowered bucket and rolled it slightly keeping pressure off stands. The right side pin pulled out easily. The left pin was a little stiff so I bumped the control lever a second time and it too slid out with no effort. Then rolled the bucket back slightly and it lifted out perfectly. This is a lot simpler than it appeared to me.

Does any oil drip out when you disconnect the supply hoses?

More Green influence... I can't believe the FEL dis/connect is much different between colors. I don't think twice about removing mine whenever I feel like it - it's too easy. If you mow with the FEL on, take it off once and mow. You'll never mow again with the FEL attached! Yeah, a little oil drops out of the QDs, but I put a shop rag below the connects and wear latex gloves (don't like being oiled, and here come the Deere jokes...). Takes all of 5 minutes to be finished and put away. In hot weather, though, the oil can expand in the unconnected FEL hoses, making it near impossible to reconnect the QDs. I've had to resort to a block of wood and channel locks to depress the QD stop and release some pressure.

WARNING: If you do that you MUST wear eye protection. MUST! It will spray everywhere - soaking you and whatever is around you. And it sprays hard - it's under a lot of pressure, and don't think you can cover it with a rag and be safe. You just do not want that oil going into your eyes under pressure... I've found it best to reconnect in the early morning, before everything heats up, if you keep it parked outside in the sun (like I do).

All I can say is, WOW. I have had my 2630 for only a couple of days and I was worried about how difficult it would be to remove the FEL. I mowed a bit with it on and realized I would prefer not to but I was worried it would be hard to remove. I read the instructions and had it removed within a couple of minutes. Definitely will keep it off and just install it whenever I need it. Amazingly simple.
