3-Point Hitch Removing Backhoe

   / Removing Backhoe #11
If your hooked up on the 3PT hitch you do not have a Kubota BH but an after market one. That probably is why it is not in the manual . With My BX 25 I have to make sure there is no binding on the pins and then they slip right out. If I am not on the driveway I sometinmes have to gee and haw it a little, still works easy once all lined up. Same with installing it. If it is a Kubota item call the closest dealer, they can email you those few pages from the manual till you get the rest of it. All their dealers are listed on their web site. The BX 25 has the BH in both the operating and the shop manual as a package as that is the way rthe tractor is made. A Kubota add on would be a seperate manual.

If it's such a chore to remove a backhoe you may want to reconsider playing with anything mechanical. I'm afraid you may hurt yourself or others!!

Your BH should be similar to mine. If it is a Kubota it will probably be a BH4672 3pt backhoe. I do not have access to my manual at this time. But one of the other owners here on TBN should be able to help with manual info.

Also never, NEVER ! Stand on that side of the hoe when unhooking.Everything is backwards to you when your standing the way the guy in the video is.
Also I block my hoe under the stabilizers before unhooking the hydro licks. Its safer, the oil will flow out an let the back part set in the dirt, or worse off on someone that plays with the controls.
Really think about the "What will happen thing"If I do this,Before you do it.
Good luck:)

I have a B26 that hadn't had the BH removed before I bought it used at 313 hours. When I went to remove the BH one of the mounting pins was very tight, almost seized. When it finally came out there was some slight corrosion on the pin and inside the bracket hole.

I'd suggest you remove the BH, or any other implement, regularly to clean off the pins and mounting surfaces. Lots of grease on reassembly will make the job a lot easier the next time. It also gets you used to how your implements go on and off.

I also modified my pins. I turned both pins down on my lathe to increase the taper on the end of the pins. The portion I turned down sticks out when the BH is mounted so my modification doesn't effect the strenght of the pins.

I also use the outriggers to lower the BH on to concrete blocks. That way if there's a loss of fluid the BH won't sag all the way to the ground. I live in the snow belt so I lather on lots of grease to any exposed piston surfaces. Lastly, there might be some hydraulic pressure build up in the lines from sagging. You may have to tap the end of the connections with a wooden mallet to release the pressure. I couldn't attach my fittings until I realised I had some pressure in the BH lines. Hope this helps.

Yes, it's a three point hitch type with separate pump. I have the two pins out on the top bar (under the seat) I just can't get the draw bars disconnected. I was told not to operate the three point hitch with the backhoe connected. I'm just having trouble pulling the draw bars off the pins.
Thanks for all the positive suggestions.

There should be a turnbuckle and threaded rod on the 3PT arms you can loosen, otherwise take off either end thats easiest and pull off the pins.

Would also suggest what I do and others mentioned is putting a concrete block or wood blocks 6-8" high under the base to rest it on - makes for reconnecting easier too.
