I surely don't have large hands and wear gloves that fit snugly. Only problem is they get slippery and slip on things. The other problem is working overhead. Everything runs down the glove and then back into it when you lower your arms.:D :D :D

Then of course the really thin snug gloves always seem to be on the losing end when they run into abrasive steel or iron products.:D :D :D

When working over head with rubber gloves (like dish washer gloves) roll a cuff back toward the fingers about 1 1/2 inch it will act as a gutter helping to keep water out of your sleeves just lower your hands once and a while to dump the cuff out.

Problem with that is I always overrun the cuff or my jacket cuff overturns the glove cuff. Oil and grease seem to have an affinity to me. I think they can jump up from the ground and get on my hands!:D

When using latex or nitrile gloves, a small spray of aerosol antiperspirant on the hands eliminates sweat in the gloves. Also works real well on your feet before putting on winter boots. Dry feet are usually warm feet in the winter.

Now that is VERY INTERESTING!!! I wonder how I got this old without thinking of or hearing that before???

It may not be a total cure but if it helps sufficiently it will be wonderful. I hate having my hands turn into soft prunes.

Shrink fit on gloves and boots has been around a while. Hot water but not too hot for comfort does a good job on leather gloves and you don't have to know what shaving cream is. There are also leather "stretcher" aerosol sprays for loosening up specific problem areas of a boot or shoe and they work well on tight gloves as well.

Each time ladies/girls fashion cycles through tight jeans you will find the dedicated fashion mavens wearing un-shrunk jeans in a tub or shower of hot water and then worn till dry to get the effect of the jeans looking like they were painted on.

Now Pat, you know the golden rule of TBN - what good is a post without pictures!

If you want to stretch a boot, you can also moisten it with alcohol and then use a sizer in it.. just makes sure the dye they used is alcohol safe... this way you don't get 'water' marks.. or any rot from wood/leather components.. like the hi$ boots have.

That's interesting. Sounds like what I do w stiff new leather boots. Fill w hot water (fr the faucet, not the tea kettle!), let sit for 5 minutes. Dump the water and mop up the excess w paper towels. Put on heavy woolen socks and wear them for the day. You'll never get blisters and they custom form to your foot.

BTW, what's shaving cream??? ;)

I think the commercial leather stretch liquid is mostly alcohol, you know like STABIL!

Ain't that the truth!

I'm a wimp! I wear my 8" high boots with steel toe and steel shank from the time I get up until the time I go to bed. Because of this my feet are almost tender walking on carpet ;). The one or two times a year I go swimming with the family I can really feel the textured concrete walkways at the side of the pool.

I remember when I was a kid it didn't even feel too bad walking accross the gravel driveway after going bare foot half the summer. I got my best time in the 800 meter when I ran it barefoot.
