Charles, great idea except at camp my generator can barely run the little compressor I have up there. And it's so crappy, it puts out a whopping 1/2 cu foot per hour or so.:) So it's a lot of elbow grease and a little tenacity that gets me through the day.

why are you talking about a camp geny when you have like a billion watts of solar pluss a HUGEMUNGOUS genny at the house site! ;)

LOL, I don't live up there yet. I'm still working out of camp.
All my tools are at camp so that's where stuff gets torn down and worked on. I f I brought it up to the homesite where the Solar power and that huge genny is they might disappear, plus they'd be in the way of the workers...as would be a torn down tractor etc.

Hey, you guys remember this old thread from a couple years ago?
Well, today I replaced that old blade with a new one. Guess what, I was able to use the same plow bolts again. But for sure for the last time. They started to spin a little so I had to clamp them down to get them off and on again. Of interest is that I have 800 hours now, and the first switch (above) was done at 400 hours. So that old blade wore at about the same rate for each cutting edge on it.

Below are a couple photos of the new Howse 7 foot long blade.
Cost was very reasonable, I thought. It was only $85 bucks plus shipping. I took it off in one of the barn bays. Certainly a lot easier with an impact wrench and concrete floor to work on than at the old camp. Anyway, check out how much that old blade has been worn down compared to the new blade. The new one is about 6" wide and the old one measured about 3-1/4" wide. Removing the old one and installing the new one only took a couple hours to do.

Next will be to add some side plate material back to the boxblade.
They have worn up pretty good. With the new blade on, I have to tilt the boxblade back quite a bit in order to just skim the surface of the road. Otherwise it will cut like all getout!

Rob, is that really you? It will be interesting to see if the replacement cutting edge lasts the same amount of hours. I'm really looking forward to seeing all the stuff that you must be doing these days.

Hi Brian, it's me alive and well.
I too will be looking to see if the wear on the new blade will be about the same as the old blade. Loretta and I have been busy with a lot of maintenance work around the ranch. I've only done a few projects this year. Some not even worth sharing. But our place is looking pretty good now.
Thanks...
