I understand that Kubota is retiring the B2910. Does anyone have any information on what is taking it's place? I was getting ready to buy the B2910 when I read that it was being replaced. Sure would like to know what changes they are making before I decide to purchase. My dealrer made me a very nice price on one sitting on his lot but I don't want to regret waiting and getting something even better.

Take the deal...it's a great tractor and whatever small changes they make will probably not substitute for the "instant gratification" of being in the seat...NOW! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

One could say the same thing in regards to women, cars, airplanes and or pitch forks!! The best advice comes from yourself if you like it then buy it!! If your not sure (Not in love yet) then pass until you find the one that makes your heart soar!!

I too wish i had a striaght answer to this question. I have a deposit on a b2910 but the quest for the lastest and greatest in that size range is diggin me in the side. The b2910 will be more than I'll ever need so i am not overly worried about it. its just not knowing that gets your gut rollin. good luck on your decision and your purchase

Rex7749,

I don't have a clue as I've been a bit quiet on this forum in recent months for several reasons. (Oddly, I've been getting more seat time on my B2910, just seem to have less time to be here on TBN.)

I LOVE my B2910. Bought it in June 2000 and currently have about 128 hours on it. I only live on 2/3 acre, so it's hard to rack up a lot of hours in a short period of time.

I'm wondering if Kubota won't include a display panel similar to that on the L30 series. I don't think they can increase it's size because then you're really getting near the L series, and I don't think it makes sense to increase the hp much because in my opinion, it has more power, in most cases, then it can get to the ground. So, other than "creature comforts", I'm not sure what substantive improvements they can make. They can't increase it's price too much because it is already near that of the lower end of the L series.

If it does, in fact, have a new "intelli-panel" layout like the L, I would find it a very difficult choice as to which I'd prefer...the old or the new. Here's my reasoning: As much as I LOVE the new L30 series, when I bought my tractor, I bought it expecting it to last 30 years. In my experience with "vintage" products, mechanical things can almost always be kept running, even if parts are no longer available by the manufacturer. A good machinist, or sometimes even standard hardware, can get you up and running. However, with things that make extensive use of electronics, once a display panel or IC chip or sensor is no longer available, it can be just about impossible to get it working again. (I'm an electrical engineer and I LOVE things electronic. Just not sure how much belongs on my own tractor.)

One of the things I like about my B2910 is that it seems to have just the right amount of technology and safety features. Other than a couple of safety interconnect switches, there really isn't that much in the way of electronics on board. And I like that.

If I was buying a tractor to use for 5-10 years, then something with extensive electronic gear would be fine. But I bought for a longer haul, and all things considered, I believe I would opt for what I have now over one that has additional electronics.

I don't know what Kubota has up its sleeve for a replacement. I'm sad to see the B2910 leave the line up. It's been great for me. In fact, I now have to go out and clean out 25' of drainage ditch I had dug out a few days ago when the weatherman said "No rain in sight until Sunday." Right...poured on Thursday and last night. BUT...with my trusty B2910 and backhoe...it's just another excuse for more seat time.

Should you buy the "old" B2910 or wait for its replacement? I'm sure there will be lots of B2910's around so you will always be able to pick one up, possibly with just a few hundred hours. So, if you wait until further details are released, you really won't be missing out on too much.

UNLESS you really NEED one now, then that's a different story and you might just want to pick one up now.

Has anyone on this forum ever bought a tractor without analyzing and agonizing over it? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Good Luck,

~Rick

I agree that I don't expect a lot of change. About the only change I hope for is stronger hydraulics. I looked very strongly at a JD4115 but like you all that electronics kind of scares me. I have an old JD850 now and the thing is bullet proof. If it wasn't for the mistake I made back then when money was tight and I did not get power steering or 4WD I would not be buying a new tractor. I plan on getting a FEL with this one and I wish the controls where placed similar to the JD. Also not to crazy about the threadle peddle on the Hydro but I can learn to live with both. I'm not in a big rush so I think I'll wait and just see what the replacement has. If not major change I do have a great price ($18K with tax for a B2910, w/FEL and 5' bushhog).

To be fair, the tach on the 30 series isn't part of the intellipanel and you could pull the intellipanel off and drive it just fine. Otherwise I'd be very sceptical too.

How about a factory option for TnT? I also would like to see more hydraulics, some increase in Loader power would be good.

Maybe it's the blissful trust of the totally ignorant, but I would like to see the electronic display of the Grand-L30 series added to the B2910.

I can't help but think that a replacement for the B2910, in today's market, should have curved loader arms and a drooping hood similar to what the competition has...

Maybe a little more beef here and there as well, but like it or not...marketing is marketing...and the curved arms/engine cover seems to be current state of the art...perception sells tractors...

Total guess, but I would not be sureprised... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Stopped by the dealer to check on an attachment.
Asked about the replacement 2910.
The Kubota dealers meeting is the last week of the month.
Asked what he new about the changes. He said that most are rumors. But I'll list them anyways.
1. Factory Cab with heat & A/C.
2. Dash Similar to Grande L.
3. More Horsepower. Up to 3 more.
4. Price will be similar to current model.

The items I would like to see are
1. Better Hydraulics.
2. Improved FEL capacity and height.
3. Sloped Hood.
4. Built in Valves and ports for TOP and Tilt and other asserories.
5. Compatibility with current MMM and other attachments for the B27-2910 & B7800.
6. Quick Attach for Loader.

In 3 weeks we should have the information we are looking for.

I spoke with my dealer today about the changes and he said he was going to a meeting Saturday and would know all the new specs and changes by Monday morning. He said that they were making some changes to several models but just didn't know all the specs yet. He did say they quit making the B2910 and the new models have been in production for awhile.... so he will see the new models almost immediately after the meeting. He did say that the new B2910 model number was a 3XXX?
I guess I will know more monday. I think I can wait until then /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Be sure to post whatever you find out, I'm looking forward to it. I have also been looking at the B2910 and was hoping Kubota would make some improvements I'm interested in. Thanks.

Well I talked to my dealer again this morning and he did give me some info on the newer models coming out. All he could tell me for now was that the B2910 will be replaced by a new 3030 model and will be styled after the L models. The loader will be a LA403 and backhoe a B875. He said they did not get any kind of literature yet and as soon as he did he would tell me more. He said they did not have a model for them too look at like they normally do during these meetings. He also said they may wait until March to release it until most of the older models are gone. Unfortunatly for him he only has one B2910 left and after its gone he won't have much to sell until then.
I was also told that the B2410 and B2710 are gone and will be replaced by a 2630 model. He wasn't sure if it was a smaller frame than the 3030 or the same size frame and less horsepower.
Prices will be close to what they are now.... maybe an increase of $600 to $700. And a price difference of $1000 between the 2630 and the 3030.
So thats all I could get... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I tried....but he didn't have any numbers yet on lift capacities or anything and couldn't tell me if the loader was curved or not.
One last thing he said was that the B7800 was staying in the line-up as an economy model.
So I guess we will have to wait some more. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
