Replacement joystick boot for a FEL?

So there's a long tear in the rubber boot for the joystick. I was just going to order a new one, but the OEM boot is $40 some dollars. Seems pretty darn high. Is there a less expensive alternative, like a generic joystick rubber boot that people use?

A square boot would be a better fit. I'm looking at Woods boots ($10-15) that are square shaped. Not sure size-wise however...

The only concern I would have is that the gearshift boots may not have UV protection like a boot designed to be on a tractor. However, I don't know that the rubber tractor boots are made any different. For the difference in price, it's worth a try.

I found a miniature sink plunger at Tractor Supply on sale for $1.99. I cut off the handle the plunger and it fit the joystick lever just right. Not perfect, but inexpensive way to keep control valves out of the weather. A photo is attached.
