Hey Folks,

My block heater on the back of the head of my rtv 900 leaked by the heating element and corroded the rubber. Long and short of it is that the whole thing needs to be replaced. I bought a new one and i see that it is press fit. Maybe aluminum into cast head. Anyone know how to get the old one out without wrecking the sealing surfaces?

Any tips greatly appreciated.

I have no experience doing this. But if I were in your situation I'd try just tapping it on each side while pulling on it and wiggle it out. Might be easier said than done.

Some folks have mentioned using threadlocker to seal it. I'd use waterpump gasket cement.
