Replacing CK Turnbuckle Stabilizers with a set of Telescopic /Telescoping Pin type

Looks like to me there is plenty of meat on that brackets bolt to cut it down and rethread it to fit in the original hole. Be better than drilling out the lift bars... easier even. Going to take it to a shop that has a lathe.

Finished this project today. Had the clevis bolts that fasten into the lift bars turned down from their 18mm 1.5 pitch to 14mm 1.5 pitch. 14mm 1.5 is the original turn buckle bolt size. So then this allowed me to go right into the original holes in the lift bars. Looks like Ill now have plenty of adjustment. Not all of it but several holes. Ill have to try hooking up some other things and see if I need to lengthen the rear clevis's to add a few more holes. At this point it does not look like I will have to. Nothing seems to need wider than this will give me.

Here are some pictures.

First and second is the clevis after turning to 14mm. Then a comparison between the two systems. Then the actual install of the whole set on the 2610 with a Box Blade mounted up.

I've got in the ones I've ordered. Does anyone know the size of the bolts that fit through the hole in the tractor frame at the back and lift arms?

As determined in the last day or two... Im sure you've found this by now.... but just in case

They are 14mm and the original one has a pitch of 1.5.

Ran it today with that box scrape on there. I don't like the play it has. Its in that last slotted hole so its got some play side to side because of that slotted hole itself. Yet thats the only one I can get the pins into. Not enough side to side play to get into the tires but its just not tight enough to avoid and limit the side to side movement as much as I want it to do. Some things like the box scrape could be affected as far as efficiency. Although I didn't see a lot of that efficiency loss this morning playing around with it but I was on a relatively flat surface. I can see it being an issue so might as well bite the bullet and make it right. As it sits I just cannot reach the next hole tighter so its now back off and it is back at the machine shop to lengthen the rear half by 2 inches. This will push the holes forward. That will get me into those first two solid holes. And give me some adjustment yet no slop. It should be plenty or adjustment. As it stands its just not able to use anything but the slotted last hole in the front section. I'm getting really close. But its not a simple drop in thing I am afraid. I hope to have this thing running next Tuesday.

Bars with added 3 inches.... And we have success. Nice fit and tight on both Bush hog and Box scrape. Everything else should be within those two implements in size and adjustment. Plenty of holes to do each way and more. I think I have finally succeeded. A little over what it could have cost without some extraneous experimentation but came in about $$275 involved in it all. What I now now would have been $50 less in the end. But Im happy with the conversion and the system is much preferred and what I was used to dealing with. Goodby turnbuckles... hello pin bars! Im so glad to have you back!

Try a quick hitch. If your implements work. Your problem will be solved and your life just got way easier.

Even with the quick hitch, you need way to prevent the attachment from swinging side to side...

Add Pat's Quick hitch. It extends the arms. Use them on my 27HST
