I have a smaller JD with the loader attachement. There is a hydraulic hose that sometimes sprays out depending on the angle of the bucket and position as well as pressure? I think it may be an o-ring where it inserts into the metal lines as it occurs more often in the winter when it's cold. I want to replace it but not sure of process, do you have to bleed the system to get any air out of the hose etc?

No, you don't need to bleed anything. Once your leak is fixed, just cycle the cylinders from full retract to full extend a time or two, check and top of oil level. I'm curious as to just what the leak is.

If you want, take a picture of the leaky fitting and we may be able to identify it. Some have O rings and others do not. If you take it apart and post photos of each side, the chances that we can help improve. As Harry says, no special bleeding is required.

If you must replace a hose, do so with a hose 6" longer to prevent undue side pressure.

Thought it worth mentioning that before you loosen any fitting, with the engine shut off, work the hydraulic controls to release any pressure within the hose/cylinders.

This doesn't always work but on most small hoses and longer hoses is normally good.
Don't try it on a 14" #16 4 wire
Shop made it an inch too long and it wouldn't work.
