Replacing manual top link with hydraulic on CUT

Hi Everyone,
I was think the other day, as I adjusted the tilt on the blade, that replacing the manual top link with a hydraulic one would be a good idea. Anyone done this and regretted it?

I made one up for a box blade to lightly scratch the road. On my other angle sensitive attachments, once you get a satisfactory angle from the top link, that's it forever. (Rake, blade, tiller, chipper). Cement mixer has it's own dump cylinder. Amazon has all the parts, hoses & couplers were more expensive than the special eyeball ended cylinder.

Never even heard of a hydraulic top link until I started shopping for a new tractor and as soon as I heard about it I wanted one, it works great and I love having it.

Never owned one before getting an old 3PH forklift for the MF. I had no idea what they sold for when the seller offered me the hydraulic top link but I went for it and glad I did. My arthritis likes the Hydraulic top link.

I put hydraulic top and side links on my little [AFFILIATE=1, nofollow=true, newwindow=true, title="Kubota"]Kubota[/AFFILIATE] B3030, both with piloted check valves. I do a fair amount of road grading and the ability to adjust the side tilt is well, priceless.

Some folks prefer the top/tilt hydraulic links without the check valves so that is something to look into for your use case.

We have the CK4010HST SE. Don't regret it one bit, it makes hooking up everything with the quick hitch even easier... and now I can't wait to try the box blade with it when spring comes.

That one from Amazon is the same as Agristore, but also comes with the hoses, hydraulic fittings, and banjo bolts. Everything you need to have it working in 30 minutes.

If you happen to have a Pat's Easy Hitch you'll want a slightly different (longer) length.

Tilt would be great too, but that's a much more complicated and expensive option for our Kioti tractors... to do it right you need a hard to find 3" stroke cylinder and have to do some cut and welding. Otherwise buying it is an option but a bit pricey.

I got a FitRite hydraulic top link seven years ago. Kick myself for not getting it when I bought the tractor new. I'm really surprised that this is not an option on new tractors. Finite adjustment while on the go. It makes ground engagement implements function to their very best.

X20 on liking my hydraulic toplink! For my use, it's just the ease of hooking up and changing implements, no box blade adjustments on the fly. It was always a hassle busting the locknut on a manual toplink, spin it in or out, tighten.
In rough order, my favorite tractor additions:
Rear remotes
Toplink
Front 3rd function
110w front and rear LED work lights (55w x4)
2 micron Racor water separator / filter
Rear flasher (lollypop) light guards
Bluetooth radio, upgraded speakers

Go for it! I have had one for years. Neighbor was the first to have one. It will make 3 pt hitch implements much more efficient because of the fine adjustments you can make the go. Especially when grading this makes a big difference. Also if you ever get a set of 3pt forks for the rear you will wonder how you ever lived without one.

I do have the check valve in mine. And pay attention to the length of the barrel closed vs open. These units come in different lengths and you do need to pay attention to your tractor lift arms lengths so you can get maximum tilt in both directions. W. Jones

Really helps you quickly learn to use the rear blade and box blade, since you can make minor (or major) adjustments from the seat and in an instance to see how it work better (or worst, at times)!!!

I love mine except on the pull snowblower. I will accidentally activate it when I want to just rotate the chute.

I use the standard top link on the blower. No need to change angle of attack on the blower.

I've used a hydraulic top link for years, first on my '73 Ford 3000 and now on my '06 Massey Ferguson. I wouldn't have a tractor without one now. The more you use it on more implements, the more you figure out new ways it is useful.

Hydraulic top-link is amazing, would never go back. You will not regret it.

Have also added tilt more recently, used much less often, but so handy for grading.

Make sure to have pilot/check valves.

I have the rear remotes and the extra lights. Working on the toplink and thinking about the Front 3rd function. LOL
