Replacing water pump - YM2000 D

   / Replacing water pump - YM2000 D #11
Is there a copy of that manual on line? (Over at the yanmar owners' place?) I am working on this is very small time slots (and am very slow :) due to other constraints.) Do I have to remove the radiator? (Still cutting away one of the radiator hoses.)

Thanks.
As California mentioned, the YM2000 and the YM240 are twins. We have the YM195/YM240 Service Manual on the Yanmar Tractor Owners Group. BTW, I wish I could change the title to your wording, Yanmar Owners Place. It has a nice ring to it. :)

When you are over there, grab all of these for your machine.

YANMAR YM135 YM155 YM240 YM330 ELECTRICAL MANUAL.pdf

YANMAR YM135 YM155 YM240 YM330 SPECIFICATION SUMMARY SHORT.pdf

YANMAR YM195 SERVICE MANUAL F007E.pdf
(this is very much like the YM240)

YANMAR YM195 YM240 OPERATION MANUAL 41812-011200.pdf

YANMAR YM195 YM240 PARTS MANUAL 000Y00T2381.pdf

YANMAR YM195 YM240 YM330 SUPP SERVICE MANUAL.pdf

YANMAR YM240 Hydraulic Service Manual YT7707-165E.pdf

Owning a YM2000 is great because of all the US model manuals are available and then some.

rScotty also has several brochures with nice details on the machine too. We have them under the brochure section next to the manuals. :)

Otherwise, there isn't much more that I'm aware of right now.

I&T Manual for the early US YM's should be on eBay - new or used.
Am I correct that the I&T manual for the YM 240 would be the closest one? (we have noticed differences as we have the Y240 owners manual for our YM 2000D)

Ooops. Posted my redundant question before I saw Maverick's thorough response. Got it.

I was over at the "Yanmar Owners Place" ;) yesterday and haven't figured out how to navigate it very well yet. I did find an extensive list of stuff (manuals) on the "wiki" link? (Don't recall now.) But it was a huge amount and didn;t know how to sort. Your list gives me some clues as they appeared to be American models, not gray market. Is that where I find the pdf's listed?

I have another big job coming up as it appears I have a leaking seal or two on right front axle. (I found a youtube video that should be helpful.)

Thanks for the help guys.

YM240 is a YM2000 with some minor changes to meet US safety standards. Push throttle to accelerate, rather than pull. They added some monkey-motion in the throttle linkage for this.

Only one significant upgrade, a safety issue: YM240 has an over-run clutch built into the PTO internals. Similar to the coasting mechanism on a bicycle, it prevents a spinning implement from pushing the tractor forward while the clutch pedal is depressed.

I can't think of any other differences. Oh - they wrote excellent documentation in English for YM240.

You found the treasure chest of manuals.

IF you have an account for the manuals link, then there is a search option. If not, you'll have to scroll thru the 9 pages of manuals. It's not that hard really, better on a PC.

I've found errors in the I&T manuals before. So a heads up on that. Mostly the Ford 1000 Series made by Shibarua in Japan. read and re-read, if anything stands out as odd, just ask us. :)

Another difference is the YM2000 has a third PTO speed (the middle setting I think) and the PTO order is opposite: YM2000 540 is lowest, not highest (IIRC ... YM240 manual is is garage.) Drain plug for radiator has different location also. At least on ours.

YM240 PTO is 540 + 1000, which I've read is common for larger US ag equipment.

And as Carey pointed out, when YM2000 went from green with external headlights, to 'version 2' appearance, headlights in grille, with red paint, YM240 stayed green color like in my avatar photo.

I guess the point is the English-language YM240 documentation is the closest thing to comprehensive manuals if you own a YM2000.
