If you are thinking of a run to HF, before you go, run a Google search on "Harbor Freight 20% coupon" and you will find online links to ones you can print and bring with you. They always have one running, as far as I can tell.

20% coupons are always posted at the Slick Deals site above in post #37

Just a note on the Chonda clones. I have adapted a number of these and they have all worked well, especially on the newer Troy-bilts with the high / low pulley. For the older Horse 1 and 2 (single range), they are a bit under powered. I am however going to adapt a 9hp on the next conversion, because the 6.5 just work too hard when tilling as deep as they can go in really nice soil. I think the 9 will be a better conversion, but shaft size is larger and the pulley needs modification.

i will say i was disappointed that the motor is made in Taiwan . i actually called Honda about it just to confirm i didn't get ripped off . they told me that most of the smaller motors are now assembled in Tawain . .

I think they are made in Tailand not Taiwan.

I have compared the "Thai" hondas, and a clone that I have side by side. The clone has smoother castings...go figure.

when you change to the HF engine, the center crank bolt goes from a 3/8 to a 5/16: does that cause any trouble with the reversing disk?? as the bolt just goes thru it, an the smaller bolt leaves a little slack?

I don't understand how things work if you leave the throttle cable off?
Do you run a sepapate cable or just set the speed at the engine and go that way?

The throttle is just a simple lever in the front of the motor . I run my full bore when tilling and throttle it back half way for a cool down . You could reattach a cable to control the throttle if you wanted I saw no reason to do this .

I have read many posts stating "it just bolted right up", others say they needed to just replace the shaft bolt, and others just the mounting bolts.
Could someone please clarify what bolts are needed for the $99 Greyhound 6.5 HP engine from Harbor Freight to attach to a Troy-Bilt Horse tiller that had a Techumseh HH60 6.5 HP engine?
Thanks
