Tony,
Thanks. I dropped them off at a shop Friday. The auxillary pump was pretty weak, and I don't want to have to do this again.

Well, I learned something new today.
I thought I was going to have to take the flywheel off the Cat and get the machine shop to make a drive plate to fit the larger set up (Deutz is a #4 housing, and the Cat is a #3 best I can figure). I unbolted the drive plate and pried it out of the flywheel on the Deutz. I held it up to the Cat and thought, no way.
I got the drive plate out of the Cat flywheel, and they were the exact same size and bolt patern.
Now maybe they're all the same, but like I said earlier, I'm not a "bonafied" mechanic. So I consider this a real blessing. Now I just need to have a mounting plate made to fit the larger housing, then figure out the motor mounts.

::A lot of engines today use what is known as ISO bolt patterns so drive plates, clutch plates and even bell housings can be interchanged. Even hydraulic pumps (size for size) have the same bolt pattern, ie Eaton to Sunstrand.

I just keep learning things on this little project.
I learned that the #3 flywheel housing for a Caterpillar 3054T will not squeeze between the fuel tank and the hydraulic tank on the 90. :(
The whole engine and pump assembly could be moved back about 6". But then since the 3054 is about 3 or 4" longer than the Deutz the whole rear of the machine will have to be moved back.

Now for the pumps. The drive pumps are good. The tripple gear pumps however are another story.
Haldex, who is now Concentrics, or some such name said the tripple gear pumps are obsolete (acording to the hydraulic shop). No parts available.
They can however build me a new pump that is similar for a not so small nominal fee... In 8 weeks. I just wanted to rebuild them. I tried to call Fecon to see if they could help me out, but they were already closed. So I'll call them Monday.

I'm on hold until I figure out what I'm going to do with the engine, and what I can do about the pumps.
We'll see what happens.

The first pump in the line up is the high flow. It's 41 gpm at 3200 psi.
The second pump is the auxillary pump. It's 20.6 gpm at (I assume) 3200 psi.
The 3rd pump is the pilot pump.

That's all the specs I have right now. The pumps are about 100 miles east, in the hydraulic shop. That's all the spec sheet tells me.

Latest update:
I thought real hard about it all weekend, and decided that if I was going to cut up the machine to fit an engine that I would want to put a 6bt in and follow what mulcherguy did. Unfortunately my funds were a little short for being able to complete such a monumental task at this time (That's a fancy way of saying I didn't have enough money to do what I'd really like to do.).
I decided to go with a Yanmar engine, I talked to Kevin at Fecon, and not only did he make me feel good about my decision, but he helped me solve the hydraulic pump problem as well.
My bank account is a little lighter this evening, but I've got what I need on the way.
I've got to say that Fecon has bent over backward to help me with this machine. Their customer support is outstanding! Thank you Bill, and Kevin.

I'm not sure what I'm going to run into when I get this Yanmar, but I'll keep you guy's posted.

Not yet.
One thing I've learned over the last few years is that no one cares about one of my machines being down as much as I do. ;)
I was supposed to pick up my new Yanmar engine in El Paso, TX on Monday. Yeah, right. I finally got to pick it up today. It was stuck in Dallas until they could get a load to El Paso.
I have a meeting first thing in the morning, and then it's back to playing mechanic.
Once I get it mocked up, I'll have to order a radiator. I hope the shipper will be better than the one I've delt with this week.
