I would wait till I see they had a lot of customers around then very loudly tell them how the rude manner in which they talked to you is the main reason you are going to buy from someone else but also make sure to mention that the other dealership is offering a better price! Pickle heads like that hate it when you let others know just what jerks they are and especially so when you do it in front of other potential customers. Who knows, you might save someone else some headaches as well.

What dealer, where, please? This kind of arrogant attitude by dealers is so counterproductive, it's ridiculous! I just can't believe that anyone, especially in this economy would be so foolish to voice an attitude like that to a potential customer?! Good way to drive away potential business.
So vote with your feet and buy from the guy who will give you the 1K discount, and don't look back. Better to find out now your local guy is someone you don't ever want to do business with.

The sad part is I just need a small carrot to make me buy from them... and I made that clear right out of the blocks. But it went down hill fast.

Unfortunately, that's not uncommon with tractor dealers...for whatever reason. If you do the same thing at a car dealership they normally fight to get your business.

The manner in which they talked to you about the price is in my opinion a clue on how they will deal with you after the sale for service and warrantee work. I would run as fast as I can to the next dealer and buy from them.

As far as what is acceptable for a distance to buy the machine you like for me it would depend on what type of drive. An all highway drive of 100 miles would not throw me off as long as I have confidence in the machine I am buying. I don't plan on having problems so it wasn't the main factor in my decision. I just prefer to support the local economy.

My DK40 has performed flawlessly and so far I don't see anything that would have me think that having a dealership far away should worry anyone

I am a salesman with a KIOTI Dealership in South East MI. I am sorry you had a bad experience. We normally try and bend over backwards to make the customer happy, and we try to be flexible with the pricing. I have to say the $21,900 seems very cheap for a DK40SE., especiall if you include set-up and delivery from warehouse.

It wasn't so much the firmness of not moving on their price but how they treat people who show up with a tractor that wasn't bought there. The color of their heart became clear. And to be perfectly clear it wasn't going to take much to get me to buy theirs… even at the higher price.

I had a similar experience at a Kioti dealer in person and another through email. That's why I went with the green brand. After all is said and done I would rather pay the extra money and know that I will be treated better.

I own a Kioti but the dealers in my area have changed hands quite a bit over the years and I was afraid that I wouldn't have the support locally. There are 3 Kubota dealers and 6 John Deere dealers in a 40 mile radius. Feel much better now.

Another thing, I don't give a **** who is selling what type of product but people in sales need to kiss some butt to make the sale. I've been there and that's what my father told me years ago and he was right, made a lot of money with that attitude.

I wasn't the one who had a bad experience. I've spoken to 3 or 4 Kioti dealers in the area, and they were all pleasant.
