I had a similar experience at a Kioti dealer in person and another through email. That's why I went with the green brand. After all is said and done I would rather pay the extra money and know that I will be treated better.

The green brand is pretty legendary for having snobbish dealers....some, not all. People walk in ready to buy, can't get anyone's attention, the dealer has no CUTs on the lot and tell people to order one if they want to see one in person.....the list goes on.

Here by me its the opposite. JD and Kubota are professional and want to work with you to get your business.

Ever dealer is different though so what can you do. Buy what makes your life easiest and happiest.

I will throw in my 2 cents.. The price of the DK40se is very good by our standards here. $700 cheaper than I could get to after several back and forth offers. So I would say that is really good. We are talking a HST equipped tractor right? Because 21,900 is about right for the shuttle model. and HST is usually about 1000 more.

I am very sorry to hear that the 2nd dealer voiced those thoughts.. That is just a very stupid thing to do. Even if they actually operate that way, to tell you that does no- one any good, not them, not you. not Kioti. if they had just assured you their overhead would not allow much give on the price but perhaps thrown in something, you would have probably bought, but to be be talked to like that, well now you know how they roll, and it ain't pretty.

The good news is the DK40sehst is a lot more tractor, and you will be very glad you got it over the CK. The second piece of good news is they are quite reliable and you may not need much dealer support. I hope you go back to the first dealer and get the DK40se hst. And we will welcome you to the pack!

I am a salesman with a KIOTI Dealership in South East MI. I am sorry you had a bad experience. We normally try and bend over backwards to make the customer happy, and we try to be flexible with the pricing. I have to say the $21,900 seems very cheap for a DK40SE., especiall if you include set-up and delivery from warehouse.

21999 was the price quoted to me by 3 dealers here in PA 2 other dealers were a bit higher and yet an other in the Lancaster area was so far off the mark he wanted me to pay 27938. because he could not understand that a fee loader meant you don't charge for it! He insisted that the DK didn't qualify for the free loader program even after I showed it to him on the Kioti web site. Wonder how many sales he made this year considering I got my tractor loader and backhoe for less than he wanted me to pay for just the tractor and loader??

Anyway my point being 21900 to 22900 seems to be commonplace for the DK 40SE around here with a few exceptions.

What dealer, where, please? This kind of arrogant attitude by dealers is so counterproductive, it's ridiculous! I just can't believe that anyone, especially in this economy would be so foolish to voice an attitude like that to a potential customer?! Good way to drive away potential business.
So vote with your feet and buy from the guy who will give you the 1K discount, and don't look back. Better to find out now your local guy is someone you don't ever want to do business with.

I'm still working out my problems caused by the (cheaper, furtheraway) dealer. K-USA is finally going to authorize the local (14 miles away) dealer to make things right. But it's not going to be for 5 days. I guess I can't blame them for being more loyal to the people who already put profit in their pocket. At these dealer the owner is the salesman so if he lowers the price it's $$$ right out of his pocket. In large dealerships (like carts) the focus is on volume, moving product, and getting more cars out there for the service department to generate revenue.

It's a fine line, how much savings will make you travel. And how much is dealer loyalty worth. I've learned the hard way that they are loyal to dealers.
Good luck and don't accept the machine until you examine it carefully. Bring another set of eyes to help you out.

The sad part is I just need a small carrot to make me buy from them... and I made that clear right out of the blocks. But it went down hill fast.
There is an area Kubota dealer notorious for this kind of behavior, while another only a few miles farther asked lots of questions and seemed a lot more agreeable to making a deal.

It could have been worse, he could have told you to "elevate your feet."...

If I were the Kioti rep for NJ, I'd get on the phone and find out who spoke at Jim's Equipment about bumping warrantee work and playing favoritism and review sales skills and salesmanship with that person.

I'm told that Kioti does monitor these forums from time to time.

Ranger, just a thought from NC. The dealer I am buying from is an hour and 50 minutes away, and of course that is/was a concern for me. I told this to the dealer and he replied that they can do the regular service at my home, and if something major were to break during the warranty period, they would come pick it up and return it for a $50 fee. In my opinion I think that is more than fair. I just wanted to share with you another option to work out with the other dealer and also show you how you know you've found the "right" dealer!
