Require counterbalancing loader

Most folks keep their box blade, or similar, on the tractor when using the FEL. Even then, one will notice traction problems if only 2WD and a heavily loaded FEL. I've 4WD, and keep a box blade on, but even then when picking up a load of wet sand notice a forward tilt of the tractor (make SURE your front tires are fully inflated, or you may end up with a flat front tire when you make a sharp turn). If you really need rear ballast, loading the rear tires, substituting a brush cutter for the box blade (my box blade weighs 450 lbs, the brush cutter 710 lbs) or back hoe will help.
Note that most folks remove the FEL when mowing, as it sure makes it easier to get around trees and bushes without nicking anything.
So, just get facile at adding and removing attachments, for which a crow bar, large mallet and a choice set of "colorful" words help.

I have the option of bolting on an additional 950 pounds of cast iron for serious loader or pallet work or taking the cast off and just using the box blade if I don't plan on getting too crazy with the loader.

I always take the loader off for mowing duties. It's a snap to park it and mowing is a lot easier without it hanging off the front of the TC-40D.

Amen to Cisco's comments! If you read my very first post on TBN, you will know the adventure I had trying to learn how to re-attach my *(&*&(*^^% FEL on my new 2210!!!
I have loaded my turf tires and ordered a ballast box. Have also gotten my hands on some lead weights (50lbs each) that I can manage to lift into the ballast box. So, I can add as much as 500 lbs to the rear, if I wanted......but probably will never need THAT much on the back. For those of us who are not only new to owning a machine like the 2210 with a FEL, but who are also total dwebs at mechanical chores (like loading tires), it can be pretty intimidating to have to learn so much, so fast. But, geez, it is fun........LOLOL
just err on the side of safety.

( With, or without ballast on the rear, the 2210 can be upset by side slope )

Rear ballasat is just that. a counterweight to offset some of the stress carried by the front end. Side slopes are trickey for any tractor.. especially loader tractors. That said.. tire ballast does help to some degree. It lowers the tractors center of gravity. Still.. side slopes are pretty much no-no's, except up and down...
