A coworker got round trip tickets for under $600 on Korean Air. Everything we're looking at is over $900 round trip right now ORD to NRT to MNL. We're gambling that they'll go down by the end of May.

Well we made it lol and living in the house for a week now "kind of a trial run" the wife has gone into town today to meet with the owner to sign all the papers and it will be ours. Nice quiet place about 20 min outside San Pablo City.

Internet is a pain in the butt right now we are using something called pocket wifi not real fast but doing the job for now.. I can at least surf some and check mail and the bank..

H & R Block has a special division for Ex-Pat taxes, we use them, we give them all our French accountant and tax info which is in French and they have ppl that translate and presto, H&R Block does our US taxes. It is not a big deal t report your bank accounts, that is really easy, that is not a big deal at all. I am very happy with H & R Block Ex-Pat services.

How's it going over there hr3? Our family is heading over now to stay for a month. We'll be staying in Northern Samar at her folks house. As usual I'm not looking forward to the humidity. The interesting thing about this trip is that nobody knows we're coming and it's been three years since we've been there.

My wife's uncle has a small lot he'd like to sell in a very good business location. My thought has always been a rental store, primarily generators and power tools.

Going great, but very surprised there are no real hardware stores here. Been looking for split bolts but only can find them in Manila. All they do is wrap 2 wires together and put tape on... arggg

your east of lake taal? my wife and i have a place on Leyte

Lake Taal is a interesting place to visit, take a bonco boat to the island and ride a horse to the vocano lake. I can still smell the sulfer. Lake within a lake. Tagatage (sp) is much cooler and has very nice hotels. We stayed in one that had about 10 bunk beds so everyone had a single bed. Hot water showers too.
