I have a cat1 KK carryall. The lower pins point outward and are long. This causes me to have to spread lift arms very wide to insert pins in fisheyes. Is there any reason I shouldn 't or can 't reverse the direction of pins inward ? This would allow me to lift arms from the inside of pins and insert with a reduction in how wide the arms need to be spread resulting in may be a difference of 4 " total spread of arms.

I may have just answered my own question. Looks like it might not be possible because of clerance issues goin' from inside to out instead of the other way. The ends of arms might rub on carryall frame. Walking outside to check.

I agree, mount the pins whichever way works best for you.
If you have sway chains you might want to make up a spacer to hold the lift arms closer to the attachment point on the carry all to reduce the leverage. If you have rigid sway struts you can force the lift arms out to reduce the leverage that way.
If the carry all is built solid enough to resist bending where the pins are attached that won't matter.

Thanks guys for the answers. I checked and I got enough clearance to reverse pins. As for the checkchains, they are the turnbuckle style. Gonna cobble together an adjustable spacer when I get the time. Too much fun drivin' to stop and make somethin'.
