I just bought one based on everyone's glowing reviews. I'm hoping to be able to push some grease into the front axle pivot that I've been able to put grease in without making a mess exactly once!

I have 78 hours on mine and have never gotten grease in it. I have changed the fitting also to no avail. I have been thinking about jacking up the front end and trying at that different angle/position. But will try this new coupling first.

I'm going to get one too. $30 is cheap price to pay for a specialty tool that makes one's grease gun work the way it should from the get go. Grease going where it belongs with little to no extra effort is worth the price, AND it makes future greasing as well as current efforts less frustrating, especially since it reduces/eliminates waste; which equates to money spent and wasted = pays for the tool over short period of time in not throwing $ away on extra grease purchased.

BTW, air in one's gun is eliminated by following the correct procedure to install a new cartridge in the gun. I'll see if I can dig up a copy of the directions I found a while back to properly install new cartridges, and post it here. Since I found them originally, I posted it in my shop and follow it to the letter. It makes it a no-brainer.:)

The front Zerk on the front axle pivot on Kioti's seems hard to get grease into. Kubota's solve this problem by providing a "relief plug" nearby that you take out before you try to grease the front axle pivot front zerk. After you remove this plug, you can grease the front zerk until you see grease start to come out the "relief plug" hole. Then re-install the relief plug. Unfortunately Kioti does not provide for this and when the axle pivot is new, it is sometimes hard to get grease into the front one. Of course this is my opinion, but the Kubota solution is fact.

Thanks CM. I would like to see that doc also. I load my grease cartridges like the video shows, except for wiping the threads with a rag and pumping the handle while screwing down the body. My lincoln has an air purge fitting where the air and grease squirt out as the charging handle is released/pressed fwd. I usually do not have immediate problems after loading a cartridge. My issues usually begin some minutes afterwards or later, like air is leaking internally into the grease stream somehow and I lose the ability to move grease- just like the cartridge is out of grease. And I have to re-bleed the system. I have this problem much less with the Lincoln than I did with the cheap units, but it is still there.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one having trouble greasing the front axle pivot on my Kioti. Misery loves company.

Like sdef, I've been planning on jacking up the front end to see if that would help.

Makes sense. Maybe after mine wears enough due to lack of proper lubrication I will be able to get some grease in there. I am hoping this new fitting will hold on tight enough against the grease gun pressure to allow some grease through the zerk. And if all else fails, maybe a 10k PSI Dewalt 20V MAX gun will get her done.

Pappy I am going to try jacking it up soon.

sdef, I thought about just lifting the front end slightly with the FEL and seeing if that would provide enough relief to get some grease in there. But I haven't tried it yet. Would be a lot easier than jacking up the front end.

I haven't had any quality time with my tractor for a couple of weeks, but will try that next time I'm at my property.

Just a follow up on the Lock N Lube I bought after reading the review here. used it for the first time on my Milwaukee battery grease gun and it worked fantastic!
The grease gun was great too! (first usage since loading and priming)

No problem. (Still looking for the doc.) You may want to check the gaskets at both ends of your gun for adequate sealing in case air is getting by. I also tighten the ends by holding the outer metal tube with a rag in one hand while I tighten the ends as tight as possible. Storing the grease gun horizontal is something I had not heard of before, to keep the oil in the grease from separating out, which could cause air to infiltrate the grease. Who knew? Such a simple tool, and yet so misunderstood!:confused3:

You know it seems so simple, and the instructions that come with them are usually seriously lacking, but if you think about it, the thing is really a complex hydraulic pressurized fluid delivery mechanism.

Here is a detailed description how to load and bleed air from cartridge and other type grease guns:

CM: Outstanding, well written document I printed out to keep with my lubing equipment. My issue is defined at the bottom of page 3: ** PRIMING GREASE GUNS. It seems my irritant was/is a normal part of the process which is out of my control, other than selecting a different product. And that the particular cartridges used were driving my issues.

Since I switched to SuperLube products a year ago, I no longer have any problems with the grease liquefying in the gun and I just ran into my first tube the other day, while greasing the Jeep's front end, that lost its prime before the tube was empty and I had to re prime. So now I am aware it seems how the grease is handled and packed into the tube is what may have been causing the problems on my side. Really great to know this is the problem! It used to drive me nuts, as the issue did not arise until I was under a vehicle or in some contorted position with the grease gun and then have it lose its prime.

SuperLube products are expensive. Besides being very high quality products, they make my aggravation quotient much less, which is my priority and the reason I am ordering this expensive grease gun coupling. In case anyone is interested, here is a link to a case of the grease tubes I just ordered with the best delivered price I could find:

My biggest gripe about grease guns is when the little plunger at the bottom slips and you can't get it pulled back down again.....OMG....I have tossed more guns because I was ticked off that I hit release.

/ Review - LockNLube Grease Gun Coupler #36
on the front pivot greasing....let the bucket relieve some of the pressure on the front wheels..makes a world of difference. On mine, i had to replace the grease zerk cause even the locknlube wouldnt lock on it. it was too smooth. the new one works like it should.

I have a zetor tractor and the front axle has a twin joint. I can only get grease to one side I have tried
several differnt ends but nothing works. Has anyone else had this problem and what can be done to get grease into these joints. Thank you.

What do you mean by "ends"? If you're referring to the nozzle on the grease gun, the LockNLube will solve the problem. It will put grease into a zerk fitting. If you're referring to the zerk fittings on your tractor, same deal, the nozzle should do the trick.

The nozzle just wont fit the fitting as the U joint wont allow a proper fit the only way I can think of making it work is to bend a needle point nozzle and grease it that way. I just don't want to do this if there was another way of doing it. I've spent hours jacking tractor, buying a side slipping nozzle, changing
zerks nothing seems to work. I don't think this nozzle will work as I can't get a straight nozzle between the U joints to apply grease,I would get one of these in a jiff if I thought it would work but I don't think so I may get one anyway as it seems to work well for others. Thanks again

Are you saying the grease gun's end won't attach to the U-joint's zerk, and therefore won't allow grease into the joint? If so here is a possible solution: Amazon.com: Lincoln Lubrication 5883 Slotted Right Angle 90 Degree Coupler: Automotive

If that won't work for your application, post a pic of the zerk in the joint so we can see the problem.
