Review - LockNLube Grease Gun Coupler

I'm sold - thanks for bringing this to my attention, Recovery, and thanks for the link, GW.
Between multiple tractors and attachments, there seems to be a variety of Zerk sizes on my gear.
Makes for some messy, frustrating work and language the neighbors should never have to hear.

I just used mine and it works as the others said. I agree that it's a wonderful tool and some of the best money I have ever spent. I will buy a few more for my other guns.

In all fairness to the IPA grease joint rejuvenator...I didn't read the directions. LOL I know I know. The reason the plunger shot all over the place was I didn't get all the air out of the tube. Its kind of awkward on some of the upside down fittings or the ones hard to get at. I also don't recommend using it on 90 degree fittings. ( Maybe it says not to in the directions LOL )I broke one. It was one of the stubborn fittings and to get the oil in I had to hit it a lil harder each time. Then it snapped. It does get the oil into the fitting but I think I'd rather just unscrew the zerk and spray oil in it.

I hate to bring this up, but waay back in the old Grease gun and a screwdriver thread from 2011 crazyal mentioned "why not build a coupler like an air chuck in post 88.

I gave him some encouragement in post 92 Hmmm..

I stumbled onto this coupling on Amazon. Man, $30 for a grease gun coupling is mighty expensive, but the reviews were stellar. Then I did an Internet search for a lower price (not one) and found this TBN post. Okay. I just ordered one off eBay for my Lincoln grease gun and expect it to clean up the grease on my tractor that seems to jump on me often. And I am hoping it will also allow me to get grease into a couple fittings that I have not been successful at, even after replacing them with new ones.

It might also save me a bit of money on grease, as I only use Superlube, which is also pricey. There are few things I dislike more than picking up a grease gun and having liquified grease leak out on everything, which has been my experience with other greases, including synthetics, I seem to recall. BTW I even use Superlube on my firearms, bicycles or anything else I can. Great stuff.

I bought one of these not too long ago...great thing. I don't think it is too expensive...heck if the thing works I will pay for it....and this thing is great.

LockNLube arrived and works great - no more constant adjusting of the ferule to get a good fit or release.
There are one or two fittings that may need to be converted to 90 degree, as the added length of the coupler makes it a bit harder to access them.

Well, I finally broke down and ordered one after reading all the glowing reviews from the beginning. I also decided to order a new grease gun to pair it with. I have 2 cheaper pistol grip guns and wanted a good quality 2 handed gun since the Lock n Lube will stay on the zert.

Amazon.com: Alemite 500-E Grease Gun, Develops up to 10,000 psi, Delivery 1 oz./21 Strokes, 16 oz. Bulk or 14 oz. Cartridge, with 18" Hose & Coupler, 3-Way Loading: Industrial & Scientific

Early this year I threw away the various cheap grease guns I had laying around that were always causing problems and replaced with a Lincoln pistol type manual grease gun. Its quality far surpasses the cheap stuff. That said, it is not perfect and I still have to burp the air out of it on occasion, which is still an irritant. I use my FEL a lot and grease it often, including the fittings on the grapple bucket. I am seriously considering a Dewalt 20v addition to my Dewalt recip. saw as soon as I find one on sale for significantly less than the $169 current price everywhere I have found.

My LockNLube is great. I was skeptical, but it performs as advertised. In my opinion it was $30 well spent. The reduced frustration is worth more than that to me.
