DirecTV now has RFD TV in their lineup. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
It's on 379. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I knew Dish Network couldn't hold 'em back!

Direct tv has always had rfd-tv. At least for the last three years that I've had it.

I have Dish TV, and I was watching Classic Tractor Fever the other night, and they had a crawler across the bottom of the screen announcing that RFD-TV was now on Direct TV also. The way it was worded made it sound like it was not available on Direct TV before that. Now I'm /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Maybe it's a regional thing. But the most important thing is that more people now have access to a great channel. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I also have Dish Network and saw that crawl. I think the significance was that RFDTV used to be on a high numbered Direct TV channel, and therefore was on a secondary satellite. The move to a channel in the 300's puts RFDTV on the primary satellite, and thus available to people with only a single antenna.

It wouldn't surprise me if Dish soon follows and moves RFDTV to one of the Dish500 birds. (Or is it already? I dunno....I have three dishes, so I get everything)

I never had RFD TV before. I've had DirecTV since 1994.
I guess it's because I'm cheap and don't have any of the "premium" channels! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've had direct tv since 2001 and it has always been on channel 379. Not sure what the big deal is now. I just have the Basic Channels with Starz so I can get the Western Channel.

I just went to rfd-tv and it mentions the elliptical dish. Maybe now you can get it without the elliptical dish is what the big deal is?

"TO WATCH RFD-TV ON DIRECTV

RFD-TV is located on channel 379
RFD-TV is a free channel, so long as you subscribe to any DIRECTV basic programming package, you will receive RFD-TV at no additional charge.
At this time, you will need the DIRECTV elliptical dish. This special dish picks up both the 101 degree, and 119 degree, satellites for DIRECTV. RFD-TV is located at the 119 degree location. In addition, you will need a DIRECTV plus receiver, which is capable of viewing two different satellite locations at the same time. Please contact your local DIRECTV dealer for more information, or to upgrade your present system.
If you are a DIRECTV subscriber, call 1-800-DIRECTV to get more information or to order the upgrade to their elliptical dish. If you are a Pegasus or NRTC customer, please contact your local representative or the billing number on your monthly statement to get details on their elliptical dish options for DIRECTV and their ordering procedure. Now this is good news. I'm going to check it out when I get home. My little boy is crazy for tractors (chip off the old block) and I hope there's something like that on tonight.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Machinery of the Past and Classic Tractor Fever were on today starting at 6pm Eastern time. They are also on at other times, but I don't see them. Classic Tractor Calander is on Thursdays at 8pm Eastern time. Those are basically the only shows I watch on that channel. I love those old machines. I have about 9 1/2 hours of tractor shows on tape so far! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, when I got home and turned it on, Classic Tractor Fever was winding down. My little boy thought it was great and I did to. Spent more time watching him than the program. Everythings amazing when you're 2 and a half years old.

I just discovered RFD on my direct TV (I have a round dish). My daughter has had it on dish for years and I really liked it. Especially "Texas Country Reporter", with Bob Phillips. I have always liked that show ever since it was "4 Country Reporter" and then "8 Country Reporter". He puts together a great show about Texas people and places. I now have it on season pass (TIVO).

I'm sure there are other good programs on it too.
